“Amazing, impressive, a MUST!!!!!”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

Last year we went to LaTapa twice during our one week stay, this year we visited it again! Never fails to impress with the quality of the service, food and wine list. Surprisingly there are numerous vegetarian options. Sometimes we just share a number of appetizers, other times we will order appetizers and entrees, depending what is on the menu. Even though it is fine dining, it is not stuffy and there is no pressure to order each course. Definitely recommend that everyone splurge for dinner one night during your trip. You will not be disappointed!!!!

“great service, delicious food, awesome wine selection”
Reviewed December 14, 2013

One of our biggest gripes in the islands has been the scarce wine selection. La Tapa takes their choices very seriously, and the selection (and server knowledge/recommendation) is great. We loved every small plate we had, and the wines (including a really unique Spanish red) were outstanding. Ask for a table for two right on the road and watch the crazy little world that is Cruz Bay St. John go by. Eric was a really good server--attentive, but not intrusive, and fun to talk to. Also gave us a great brunch recommendation. Enjoy La Tapa! (PS: Everyone talks about their mussels...if that's what you're going for, call first. They don't always have them. The scallops in their place were delicious, but not what we'd intended to eat!)

“Complex, innovative cuisine”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

This restaurant offers more than the usual high end island places featuring local fish. Preparations are sophisticated, complex and very tasty using local ingredients. Definitely one of the bet on the island. Location on the main street is fun due to many colorful passers by.

“Paella was excellent!”
Reviewed December 11, 2013

This is one of the best restaurants on St John. We were a group of 8, 4 adults and 4 teens. The wine list was excellent. The paella was too much for two of us to finish. Saffron rice gave it a extra level of flavor. This is a small restaurant, so seating is limited so make a reservation to make sure you get a table. We will definitely make this a repeat for dinners in future trips to St John.
