We had read some good reviews about the Terrace so we decided to try it and were generally underwhelmed and disappointed. They market themselves as a French restaurant but there was very little that was french about their menu and their food. The special appetizer of the evening was oysters rockefeller and they were served cold (should have been hot) with the muscle still attached to the shell. The escargot was ok but nothing special. the scallop app was probably the best of the 3, but nothing extroardinary. The entree's were not much better, and the side dishes just didn't make sense/enhance the main dish. There was very little saucing and flavor to any dish. We had the mahi mahi, filet mignon, and scallop entree. We were very underwhelmed by the meal and service. The wine list is pricey. We spent about $400 for 4 appetizer/dinner/wine, excluding tip. I just can't really recommend the Terrace as there are so many other wonderful dining opportuntities. Sorry:(

“Very Nice Menu and Food = 10”
Reviewed April 6, 2014 via mobile

Nice spot over looking the harbor.. the food is better than the view. :-). The exceptional staff accommodated my request due to a med issue. We had the scallop appetizer and it was simply great. Then we had the Mahi Mahi and rice/salad... crazy good. They have great french wine by glass. The dinner for two very reasonable

“A meal to remember”
Reviewed April 6, 2014

So happy that this lovely restaurant is open again and better than ever. The French cuisine and wine list, combined with the perfectly charming setting make this a great place for a memorable dinner. This was my favorite lobster preparation of our trip! Service was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Our server even went out of her way to prepare sweet tea for my daughter. All good things.

Clean, fresh flavors. Excellent service. Perfect ambiance. A must on St. John! We loved the tuna tartar, crab asparagus salad, and lobster with saffron noodles. Highest compliments to Erica! We'll be back!!

“Beautifully clever chef”
Reviewed March 25, 2014

Such a pretty place! An easy walk from the ferry dock, and a pretty harbor view. The Mister and I have followed this chef around her island, and I can actually recognize some of her dishes. She does an especially nice job of plating, with garnishes I know to be costly in these islands.
The Mister had the best Wahoo we've had in the Caribbean (and for us, this is saying a lot) and I had a good vegetable tartlet and a main course of 3 creeps stuffed with asparagus, mushrooms, and something else. I won't order this again but I'm not an unhappy customer and we'll surely return. Service was great and skillful.
