Description: Serving Funky Southeast Asian Inspired Cuisine! We serve our food in an unconventional manner, where there are no appetizers or entrees. The food comes out of the kitchen as it is prepared by the Chef. Therefore, we recommend ordering several dishes off of the menu and encourage sharing. Our cuisine is made up of locally sourced ingredients when available. Our flavor profiles are comprised of spice, sweet, sour, salty, and savory. Our cocktails are just as flavorful and as interesting as our cuisine. All of our wines were sourced from Michael Skurnik Wines and were hand-picked by Michael himself. The wines were selected to complement the wide variety of flavors in our cuisine and they were shipped in temperature controlled containers to ensure the integrity of the wines. We believe this style of dining creates an intimate, comfortable, and fun atmosphere. We serve sophisticated dishes in an unpretentious manner. If you are a diner looking for a traditional dining experience, there are lots of other great restaurants on island, come in for a drink and we'll recommend a few.Live well and be happy!

“Went back”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

We went there the night we arrived in St John and, while the other nights we tried different places, we wanted to go back for the last dinner of the vacation. Great server and host, food is very unique, combining pork and watermelon is not an usual dish, but it was a great combination. Totally recommendable.

“Interesting approach”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

Interesting approach to family style eating with Tapas. The food itself was unique and delicious and our waiter was very friendly, helpful and attentive. However I do not recommend for large groups not all sharing the same dishes. Our group was over 15, and 5 of us shared one set of meals (which worked out fine, there was just enough for everyone). Since the meals are like tapas and not large dishes, the larger group seemed to have less of each dish. One girl had a gluten allergy and went separately, however since food is served as it comes out of the oven, she had to wait almost the whole meal before her dish came out. Definitely give it a try, but I recommend going with a small group of people who will agree on a variety of dishes for the best experience!

“Best Restaurant in the Caribbean. Period.”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

Not much else to say-
Menu, cocktails, wine list, The play list is even awesome. Brandon rocks out the bar nightly! Islands in general always have bad restaurants, not any more. This place is the best thing to happen to St John since the National Park!
Thank you Fatty Crab!

“Interesting Food”
Reviewed February 21, 2014

The food is served as it comes out of the oven, so be prepared to have the dishes staggered. There is nothing for a vegetarian at this restaurant. All the vegetables are drizzled or cooked with pork or meat..except for a salad and some tempura vegetables. My husband had the pork belly and watermelon rind, which appears to be a favority dish of many. He said the taste was very good, but the meat was very fatty. It is an interesting menu, we had fun.

“Wonderful meal”
Reviewed February 18, 2014

Ate at Fatty Crab this past weekend and had a fantastic meal. There were four in our party and each one of us tried a different cocktail. My Fatty Manhattan was perfect and my wife, who is not a cocktail drinker, fell in love with the Love City. It came time to order but ordering in this restaurant can be tough. There are so many fantastic sounding items it's hard to choose, but our waitress guided us expertly. After taking our order I flagged her down again to add the juicy ribs after seeing someone else eating them! We ordered A LOT and everything was wonderful. Standouts were the raw beef salad, crispy veggie tempura, pork with pickle watermelon (oh my God!) and a tuna poke that was more than okay! The wine list was expert (which makes sense since I was told the owner is a wine importer) We ordered a great riesling which was nicely priced and paired perfectly with all of our menu items.
We were quite full but managed to split a terrific panna cotta along with a couple of aged rums that ended a memorable evening. Oh, and one of the most fun things about this restaurant is the music (the chopsticks make perfect drumsticks!)
All in all a great night out. If you happen to be lucky enough to visit St. John increase your fortune with a visit to this great (fun) restaurant! (Good for families too!)
