Description: Serving Funky Southeast Asian Inspired Cuisine! We serve our food in an unconventional manner, where there are no appetizers or entrees. The food comes out of the kitchen as it is prepared by the Chef. Therefore, we recommend ordering several dishes off of the menu and encourage sharing. Our cuisine is made up of locally sourced ingredients when available. Our flavor profiles are comprised of spice, sweet, sour, salty, and savory. Our cocktails are just as flavorful and as interesting as our cuisine. All of our wines were sourced from Michael Skurnik Wines and were hand-picked by Michael himself. The wines were selected to complement the wide variety of flavors in our cuisine and they were shipped in temperature controlled containers to ensure the integrity of the wines. We believe this style of dining creates an intimate, comfortable, and fun atmosphere. We serve sophisticated dishes in an unpretentious manner. If you are a diner looking for a traditional dining experience, there are lots of other great restaurants on island, come in for a drink and we'll recommend a few.Live well and be happy!

Fried rice, beef brisket, pork ribs and brussels sprout in bacon, made a nice meal at a reasonable cost. The mixed drinks were done nicely and the service was pleasant. THIS WAS OUR SECOND TIME EATING AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT WITH THE SAME SOLID RESULTS.

We didn't plan to eat at the Fatty Crab based on the reviews. However, the restaurant is across from the ball field where a concert was taking place, so we decided to try it out since we could see the stage and hear the music. We were so glad we ate here! We shared the chicken satay (standard), brussel sprouts with maple and bacon (never had this vegetable before, but loved it), and the awesome crispy pork belly with watermelon. Thanks for a wonderful meal!

We'd read about this place and hit it up three times on a trip to St. John earlier this month. The food is absolutely delicious and the cocktails are insane- try the Manhattan with the smoked cherry syrup. Or try three. Also have a "recession special:" a can of Schaefer served with a pickleback (a shot of whiskey chased with, in this case, house-made artisan pickle juice). Lots of fun. Our waitress the first night was a blast, the bartender was a blast and explained the benefits of 100% agave tequila to us, and we even had a fun night next to the owner and his wife, who chatted with me about life and shared her [exceptional] Riesling. The mahi-mahi with rice noodles sounds simple and unassuming but is a flavorful masterpiece. The smoked ribs go well as a snack with a recession special at the bar. The yellow curry chicken was delicious, as were the slaw, tempura veggies, fish sliders, and pulled pork. The ramen is a must. We sampled more but were really in love with the atmosphere and attention to detail on the menu.
If you're in Cruz Bay and looking for a delicious dinner and artfully crafted cocktails, the Fatty Crab is your spot.

Fatty Crab was recommended to us by good friends. They are big fans of tapas style restaurants and spicy foods - both of which I'm not. However, the staff and service was very prompt and courteous. They even brought me a "virgin" version of one of their specialty drinks when they found out I was expecting and couldn't partake. Very sweet. The menu has many interesting asian-fusion type dishes. If you don't have a palate for unique flavors you might want to go elsewhere. We had about 7 dishes split between 4 of us. My hubby and I are more of the big portion types so we headed out after to get a big smoothie for dessert. Overall well prepared and unique food though.

We went back to the Fatty Crab for their really good food. Their dark and stormys are the best on the island. We also had mahi sliders (yum!), BBQ pork ribs (super) and the pad thai which is some of the best I have ever had. It came with two gigantic grilled whole shrimp (heads and all) which were fantastic.
