Description: Serving Funky Southeast Asian Inspired Cuisine! We serve our food in an unconventional manner, where there are no appetizers or entrees. The food comes out of the kitchen as it is prepared by the Chef. Therefore, we recommend ordering several dishes off of the menu and encourage sharing. Our cuisine is made up of locally sourced ingredients when available. Our flavor profiles are comprised of spice, sweet, sour, salty, and savory. Our cocktails are just as flavorful and as interesting as our cuisine. All of our wines were sourced from Michael Skurnik Wines and were hand-picked by Michael himself. The wines were selected to complement the wide variety of flavors in our cuisine and they were shipped in temperature controlled containers to ensure the integrity of the wines. We believe this style of dining creates an intimate, comfortable, and fun atmosphere. We serve sophisticated dishes in an unpretentious manner. If you are a diner looking for a traditional dining experience, there are lots of other great restaurants on island, come in for a drink and we'll recommend a few.Live well and be happy!

“We'll be back”
Reviewed June 8, 2013

We just asked our waiter to bring out 3-4 of his favorite dishes and surprise us. And we were delighted.

A different and interesting menu, well executed. You can get Pad Thai here - and it's excellent, probably not exactly like any Pad Thai you've had before. If you are a fan of bacon, you have to get the Braised Pork Belly and Watermelon Pickle. Brunch is also very good.

Lots of locally sourced items, and house-made pickles, bacon, etc.

“Interesting Menu”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

We have walked past Fatty Crab a number of times and after reviewing the menu decided to keep walking, its not your conventional menu by any stretch. Based on a reccomendation by another traveler we went for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. We went with a few reccomendations (they have a number of small plates) from our waiter and were happy with the results. The service was very good and the atmosphere was quite nice.

“Simply the Best”
Reviewed June 3, 2013 via mobile

Amazing food and bartender to boot!! Remy the bartender got everything right with recommendations (calamari, ribs and ra-men soup). All these items were extremely unique in taste like we never had. In addition the coconut dessert choice was spot on. Should be #1 for sure.

“Delicious and different”
Reviewed May 29, 2013 via mobile

During a recent boating trip through the Virgin Islands, while on St. John, we found The Fatty Crab. It was Sunday night, the restaurant was packed and we didn't have a reservation. The staff graciously found us a table, promptly took drink orders, asked if anyone had food allergies, a point that was well noted and appreciated, and explained the sharing concept of the menu, similar to a tapas type restaurant but with much more interesting and delicious choices. The food was simply outstanding. There was also an excellent band playing, rocking out the crowd, with plenty of dancing occurring. We later ran into the owner at the airport and found out that one of the band members was from Steely Dan, explaining the high caliber of the band. All around a five star experience. I highly recommend The Fatty Crab.
