“Smooth & Efficient Ride with Boyson”

After traveling on two separate round trips between St. Thomas and St. John, I recommend using the Boyson car ferry instead of Love City. Two reasons: Boyson is both less expensive and more efficient than Love City. I don't understand why the prices vary between ferry operators, especially since the service is not easily differentiated. It is a very basic commodity... the barges are not outfitted to be party boats!

The views were spectacular from the back, front, and sides of the ship... we were blessed with beautiful weather to enjoy the sights of crystal clear blue water and an amazing sunset!

There are different ferry companies, and they don't exactly tell you this when you head out from St. Thomas. We booked a round trip with one company, and when we headed back to St. Thomas to catch our flight, we were told our return ticket wasn't good for that ferry. The next one wasn't leaving for another hour and we would have missed out flight, so we had to pay another $30. Just a heads up to other stupid people like me that neglect to ask questions

It is what it is, a ferry. Not necessarily attractive, but gets you where you want to go. The Red Hook Ferry leaves every hour on the hour to St John. We have been going to St John for many years and it is a huge improvement since they have the ferry terminal. Now, if you miss the ferry, you can have a libation under shelter and wait for the next.

open area for buying tickets and boarding the boats. for a car you drive in backwards which is fun. you can buy return trips but then you have to use the same ferry on the way back.

This is the best way to get back and forth to the island-
The ferry runs regularly and is affordable and dependable!
