A local recommended this place for Happy Hour, glad we stopped. 2 tacos were 5.00. Good little mid afternoon snack. Nice crowd, beautiful view.

Spotted this place by chance for a late lunch. Nice view but a bit muggy. Very friendly staff. It took some time for our orders to arrive but worth the wait. I had fish tacos...fresh and delicious, other orders chicken tacos and salad with mahi-mahi, both very good. Reasonably priced.

There are only a handful of a places in the ferry port of St. John that you can walk to and enjoy the view of the water. Its second floor location puts you above the beach "busyness" and noise (although there is not an elevator so we had to carry our stroller up the stairs).
From Brent, the host that greeted and sat us, to our waitress, we felt valued and taken care of. Everyone was so friendly and our dinner conversations with them added to the joy of this dinner. We timed our dinner for sunset- a must do. The atmosphere is unbeatable!
The food was good, not great. We ordered the crab cakes, calamari, and the special - crab and shrimp with pasta. The crab cakes were a 5! The pasta had an unexpected thick creamy sauce. If it had been served with a more traditional white wine or basil/garlic sauce we would have liked it more. It was still good though, and loaded with seafood. For dessert, they had key lime or a brownie al a mode. Being chocolate fans we ordered the brownie. It was huge! However it tasted like it came from the freezer, not homemade. Again, still good just not great!
However, we loved this meal taking everything into consideration. We would definitely return.

We decided to go to the Spyglass even though we knew it was up for sale. We were afraid the service could be bad but overall, everything was good! We arrived at a tricky time - about 5:45pm. We wanted dinner but our server made it clear that it was still happy hour and happy hour drinks/menu was still in effect. This worked for my dad who wanted chicken wings but my mom and I wanted a real meal. We sipped water (and I had a margarita - quite delishishly strong!) until it was closer to 6pm.

Both of us had the lobster bisque - it was delicious! It had a kick of spice to it but it also had nice chunks of lobster. I had the warm spinach salad - yum! I added chicken and it was plenty for a dinner-sized salad! It was delicious! The candied walnuts and sweet dressing complimented the bitterness of blue cheese and spinach perfectly! Not to mention - bacon!

We were too full for dessert but had a nice time. Our bill was about $70 which was a bit on the high side for two soups, two salads, and 10 chicken wings but I guess everything is more expensive down here! We will be back next year and we will be anxious to see if the establishment has changed hands and what changes the new owner will make!

The view is great and happy hour is a good value. The service is below poor and food and drinks are average.
