We had the wonderful opportunity to stay at Gallows during our first visit to the beautiful Virgin Islands!! Residence 9A was perfect - we booked directly with the owner Richard who offered a better rate than the next best rate online. We got to choose the specific residence and our son loved being steps from the pool, hot tub and access to the water for snorkeling. Everything was perfect. The residence had a million dollar view of the ocean and was immaculate, comfortable and stocked like your home should you wish to prepare meals and snacks. My son slept on the pull out in the living room and it had an upgraded mattress and he loved the sheets! King in master was hard to get out of each morning. The grounds are lush and they have a resident peacock who we got to see daily. The pool is bigger than it looks in the pictures. Sunsets are unbelievable and location is perfect as you can walk downtime in minutes but are far enough away for quiet relaxation. We hit High Tide, 420, Cruz Bay Landing and some of the small shops. We also ate at the on-site restaurant Ocean 362 and highly recommend that too. Most people we met make Gallows an annual destination (one couple 11 years!) and we now know why and plan to do the same. Gallows is a very special place and we plan to return and try one of Richard’s harbor view residences. Some of the other conveniences are a well stocked on-site store that had a great beer selection, free laundry stations, beach gear and a UV filtered drinking water filling station. Wifi allowed us to work. They also arrange Jeep rental (free parking!) and we explored some of the sugar cane factory ruins as well as the bays and beaches (don’t be afraid to drive here). Put USVI, St. John and Gallows on your list!!! No passport needed:-).More
