The Gallows is perfect for all
Of the right reasons. The view is stunning, the reef in my own backyard, great location to the best food. The staff is so friendly, greeting you on every leave and coming in. The rooms have an incredible view and balcony. I’d stay here again.

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at Gallows Point. The staff surprised us with a bottle of champagne, flowers and a small gift. More importantly, they did more than supply things, they supplied a very loving environment to us with many offerings of congrats that we had not met. The pool area is beautiful and the snorkeling is very good right off of their platform. Restaurant 362 offers excellent food and choices with a delightful staff. (We will review that separately.) The grounds are well kept with lovely plantings throughout. The bottom line in any evaluation is would you return? The answer for us is a resounding YES. These are very strong people that survived two Cat 5 hurricanes, so expect the best and you will get it.

We just returned from another fantastic stay at the Gallows Point Resort. This is the only place we'll stay on St. John. Anna at the front desk and all the other employees were great and so pleasant throughout our stay. We enjoyed our conversations with the housekeepers, maintenance crew and the head of security. They all were so wonderful and made you feel like family. Everyone is working so hard to get the property back to it's pre-Irma/Maria state. Most everything is complete, the only thing I noticed was the convenience store was still under construction and the owner told me it would re-open within a couple of weeks.

We stayed in 7B again and it was perfect. Beautifully furnished, spacious, extremely comfortable bedding and overall very clean. The bathroom is huge and contains environmentally friendly Bee Kind soaps and shampoos. The kitchen has granite counter tops, a stove, dishwasher, microwave oven and equipped with just about every thing you could possibly need to prepare meals or drinks.

The grounds were immaculate and most of the landscape was exactly as we remembered it. We quickly noticed that off to the right from our patio, a palm tree stump now remains where once stood a huge curved palm tree. That stump is now a favorite stopping point for several of the peacocks that stroll the grounds early each morning. They seem to love that spot !

From our unit, stairs lead down to the rocky beach, but those stairs were roped off due to continued construction. I could see where they are filling in the beach area with rocks and although the two tattered hammocks are still attached to the palm trees at the bottom, no doubt they will be replaced. The pool area is downright gorgeous, love what they did to the area and so glad they went with salt water instead of chlorine. We were even surprised one afternoon when the family of donkeys showed up at the pool. There's a new sundeck area down by the railway which leads to the snorkel entry point. The snorkeling was pretty good in spite of the damage to the coral. The swimming dock was hauled away last year (there is a buoy marker in it's place) and was told it would probably be returned next year.

It's the little things about the resort that make Gallows Point so special to us. The daily greetings from the employees, peacocks roaming your patio every morning by 7am, the morning chirping of birds, watching iguanas climb the palm trees as the sun peaks over the resort in the morning, watching the lizards climb the smaller palm tree and proceed to perform morning push-up workouts, the sounds of the passenger ferries and boats which create the swells that eventually transform into waves crashing against the shore, witnessing the gorgeous sunsets with an ice cold beverage on your back patio, seeing the flicker of lights from St. Thomas once the sun sets, hermit crabs rustling about every night in the leaves by the BBQ area, the endless amount of stars in the evening sky and the melodious sounds of the tree frogs in the dark of night.

It doesn't get any better than this.

Thank you Gallows for an amazing stay and we'll see you soon !

Cheers !

We stayed at lower ocean view 15a, right next to a beautiful pool, we enjoyed our stay very very much. Staff are so friendly and helpful, the island is still recovering but absolutely beautiful. Easy walk to Cruz Bay shops and restaurants, we felt safe. Sunset dinner at Ocean 362 was a very special, we did twice but both times meals were great.
We really wanted to have a giftshop back but it was not. We will be back to this resoprt for sure! Special thanks to our housekeeper (forgot her name, said one of her daughters are in New York), she did amazing job everyday!!

Room Tip: 15a lower floor has a great ocean & bay view, right next to pool
