For us snorkeling is the main reason to go to the Caribbean. During a recent week on St John we were very disappointed in the snorkeling off the many beaches. Most of the coral is dead. We decided to do a half day powerboat excursion with Capt. Wilson and it was the highlight of our week. The boat is very stable and fast. I'm a heavy guy and the boat was very easy to get in and out of the water. Capt. Wilson is very knowledgeable about the sea-life in each of the areas visited and brought valuable insight. We did a very cool drifting snorkel off an island with a bird sanctuary plus we visited two other beach areas that are hard to reach by land… all in a half-day charter. Everything was at our own pace, a truly great relaxing day. There were sea turtles, angle fish, sea anemones and lots of very cool fish. He even let me drive for a while. He’s very attentive and respectful of the nature. Unlike some other charter's we’ve done in St. Croix and the Bahamas, Capt. Wilson was very flexible about cancelling a subsequent booked trip and refunding the deposit when the weather did not cooperate. The boat is very clean and well maintained. A trip on Big Blue is highly recommended.
