“Best ever”
Reviewed August 1, 2009

We visited St. Thomas via the Carnival Glory cruise ship on July 21, 2009. We booked the Big Blue charter boat for a 1/2 day trip to Jost Van Dyke and Sandy Cay. Captain Bradley Wilson was fantastic. We booked two months in advance and I emailed him many times beforehand. He always answered my emails promptly. He even hooked me up with a cab to take us to the dock in Red Hook. He asked in advance for our passport info and even what beverages we'd like for the day! When we showed up all we had to do is give him our passports and sign a form for British Virgin Islands customs. We are a family of four (two daughters 18 &22). The boat fits twice as many comfortably so we had plenty of space. I researched the trip and knew exactly where I wanted to go but if you don't Captain Wilson can certainly suggest some great places. We swam to a deserted island, visited White Bay in Jost Van Dyke and the Soggy Dollar Bar and Ivan's Stress Free bar and of course, Foxy's in Great Harbour. On the way back to St. John to clear customs, we toured Cinnamon Bay, Honeymoon Bay and Trunk Bay. An unbelievable trip. The best Caribbean excursion ever! We plan on doing it again in 2010.
Thanks Captain for a great day. See you next year.

“Big Blue delivers”
Reviewed July 15, 2009

We booked Big Blue for an 8 hour trip on our recent visit to St Thomas. As the previous reviews mentioned Big Blue (the boat) and Captain Wilson did an amazing job and we had a great time.

To start, you are essentially chartering a private boat. He will take up to six people, but you can rent out the boat just for yourself as well. We did the latter as we were looking for privacy and the freedom to go wherever we wanted.

- Captain Wilson is really a great guy. Very friendly. He just bought Big Blue last year and is really trying to make a name for himself with great service.
- The boat itself is very new, has a great sound system, plenty of places to lay around on and very fast.
- With a chartered power boat (as opposed to a sail boat cruise) you can really fly around the different islands. Whereas we saw 1 site on a six hour sailboat cruise, we saw like 6 sites on the powerboat in both the US virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands.
- He knows some amazing snorkeling sites. We did two that day and both delivered (tons of fish, sea turtles and coral reef).
- For any of these places we could stay as long as we wanted or go if we wanted to move on.
- He took us to a great lunch spot, an amazing secluded beach, the soggy dollar bar, and two great snorkeling spots as well as boating by a bunch of cool landmarks.

- This was probably our fault, but he joined us for both the lunch and the bar. We were looking for a little more privacy but we didn't really tell him. If you want to be alone just let him know that.
- Relatively speaking it is expensive. The boat plus gas plus tip came out to like $800. Still worth it but more expensive then a sail boat tour.

“Best Day of our trip--should have done it sooner!!!”
Reviewed July 13, 2009

We spent months planning our trip to St. Thomas. Having been there 4 times already we wanted to do something different. Been out on the snorkeling trips with 50 people before. Wanted to be by ourselves with our own itinerary. We chose Big Blue because the boat appeared in great shape (it was) and Captain Wilson was very quick to answer any questions we had. Basically, he let us choose our own stops based on what we wanted to see. Even though my husband was not feeling well enough to make the trip, my kids (16 & 13) and I still had a great time. I was nervous about getting sick as I have in the past but with a little dramamine and Captain Wilson's experienced driving I was fine. Would highly recommend and will definately go with Big Blue again. Thank you Captain Wilson!!!!:)

“Amazing Day!”
Reviewed July 8, 2009

We took a trip on Big Blue on July 3 and had a fantastic time. The boat was beautiful and had tons of room - there were 2 adults and 4 teenagers in our group. Captain Wilson had great suggestions after listening to what we wanted to do and created a day filled with interesting snorkling, amazing views, relaxing beaches and good company. It will definitely be the highlight of our vacation!

“Great Day with Big Blue!”
Reviewed July 8, 2009

My husband and I and our two friends spent a tremendous day with Captain Wilson on Big Blue, snorkeling in Congo Cay, Leinster Bay, and Sandy Spit. We also had a great lunch at Foxy Taboo's and experienced the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke's White Bay. Capt. Wilson was accommodating and informative (love the lore!), and let us go at our own pace. He has an underwater camera so we have a nice bunch of souvenir pictures of some of the fish and fauna we experienced. The boat was very comfortable, particularly since there was only four of us (plus Capt. Wilson) sharing the boat. This seemed to be the best way to see some sights above and under water with no hassles from other people around. The boat was very clean and the sound system was great. It was a fantastic day, one that we will relive throughout the year. We look forward to booking another excursion on Blg Blue. Highly recommended!!
