“Warm dining, no view, but tasty.”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

This restaurant has dining in an interior courtyard amongst stores at Mongoose Junction. There are only five or so tables, and it's warm because it is outside but the ocean breezes are blocked by stores. Our server gave us great advice for our meals and she was very friendly. Our fish was served hot and was prepared perfectly.

“Nice spot for dinner, reasonable prices”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

The food was good, and relatively inexpensive for St. John. Outside seating only, as far as we could tell. In Mongoose Junction.

“Great lunch at Sun Dog”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

We stopped by Sun Dog cafe after our Reef Bay Hike tour with the forest service. I had heard great things about Sun Dog, but my husband wasn't so sure such a tiny little place could possibly have good food. I don't know how they do it, but that 10x10 shack turned out fantastic food. The Chimichurri Steak Sandwich was amazing. My husband had the shrimp vera cruz and loved it. My sister-in-law had the tacos and we shared an order of roasted garlic bread. I think we ate every bite. We would have gone back for dinner, but didn't get the chance. This is a must-eat place on St John!

“Lovely outdoor cafe and bar”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

We also just happened to stop by for a quick outdoor lunch after a day at the beach. We were really just looking for a place to sit and have a couple of drinks, but when we saw one of the six outdoor tables available we sat down. We were very happy with the interesting and unique choices on the menu. The staff were very friendly and our waiter made a recommendation of the Shrimp Vera Cruz. It was delicious. The steak tacos were also very good, and of course we enjoyed some local drinks including bushwhacker and BBC as well as the local beer. Overall a very pleasant surprise.
