“great for families”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

We were visiting Wales for a family birthday and my sister in law had booked a table for 17 - ages ranging from 4 months to 77! The table was set out for us in a cosy dining room to ourselves but it had plenty of room to move around and chat, the waitress was very friendly and helpful and service was prompt, the choice was varied and everyone found something to suit them, there was an offer of many starters at 1.99 so I didnt expect much, but the pate came with chutney in a dish and daintily cut brown bread and there was a very generous serving of prawns oin salad with the coctail sauce in a seperate dish - main meals well presented and yummy desserts if you had room for one (I settled for cappucino)
A nice party and a good experience.

“Understated, Hidden away...”
Reviewed June 7, 2012

When I was a child we always used to go here, it was called Charlie Chalkes then, then Pentrebach House, then Brewers Fayre and now it's settled in as a Table, Table.

It suffered a few years back with bad reviews and because of that it still suffers the tail-end of that.

But the fact is it really is a lot better. You're seated almost immediately, drinks are taken at the table or bar whatever you prefer. You're left alone to make your choice then you can make your order.

Food was cooked lovely, very nice. My only 'bad' point is that the courses do come very quick behind each other. Your plates are taken away then the next course is in front of you.

I throughly enjoyed it!

“WHAT A MESS!!”
Reviewed March 18, 2012

Went with a friend who I had not seen for sometime. We were nicely seated in a cosy part of the restaurant. Whilst looking at the menu, three women sitting near us had to send their meals back stating the food was cold (curry & rice). The staff were clearly over stretched. We ordered our meal - we intended having two courses - staff were very apologetic about the time it took to serve us; they were very nice and pleasant but obviously expecting a 'telling off' as must be the normal run of events; but we were fine and completely understood. Our meal was disgusting; our starter looked as if it had been 'dumped' on the plates and was barely edible. Our main meal was 'slapped' around the plate and was tasteless. We ended up having dessert as we were unable to eat the first two dishes; we didn't think they could go wrong on ice cream!! Very comfortable venue but short staffed and food extremely below par. We will not be returning. We both live quite near to Pentrebach House and had not been there for a few years....we had both forgotten why!!! I really do not like giving such negative reviews as I try to be balanced about the experience, however, I do have to be honest and in this review I am being as kind as possible.
