We stayed in the Beach Estate in June, 2010. I had a difficult time finding this on Trip Advisor to write my review....
Home was unique and very nice. Clean kitchen with everything you could want...
The bedrooms were very nice and very clean. The entire villa was "outside" which was good and bad... Our daughter was eaten alive by mosquitoes the first few nights, so we went to bed early. The view was incredible from early morning until late in the evening and there were plenty of Iguanas living at our house which we loved!
The only downfall about this rental and many others in St. John is the beach. You have to drive to the North Shore beaches...the beach here is more of a step down into the water and there are boats everywhere...you cannot swim or snorkel here for the most part. The villa is right next to the Westin which also has a man made beach. Nothing like the north shore beaches.....just know that if you are staying here. We have been back to St. John and we stayed at Caneel Bay which is roughly the same price, but a slice of heaven...you are on Caneel Bay and the location can't be beat!
All in all, I would return to St. John over and over again!

The Beach Estate on St. John is one of the most beautiful properties I have ever seen. Staying there was like being in a fairy tale, with a tower and all. The Estate is absolutely beautiful. The layout of the property is so unique with many different areas to go for privacy if you are traveling with a group. The attention to detail is spectacular, with wine bottles and sea shells built into the beautiful stone work surrounds the entire property. The furnishings are amazing as well as the view. You have your own private beach as well. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. Looking forward to a trip back to The Beach Estate soon.

Most of the bedrooms were spectacular and had great AC. The house seems to have been renovated in stages, so your visit may have more completed areas than our stay.
The location was excellent and the kids loved the pool and the beach area. Don't expect beautiful sand beaches, they do not exist on this side of the island.
The only thing that made this house rate lower was the mosquitoes. Our kids were eaten alive by them. Certain times of the year I guess they get worse, especially 2-3 days after a rain. This house is not luxurious as some others but it is very decent. We spent most days going to the north shore beaches. Bring Plenty of OFF.
