Owner description: A pretty and amenable bay on St. John’s north shore. Beware: no changing facilities here.

Because of the shelter Mary's point offers from the prevailing winds the beach here is almost always free of rough water. The snorkeling is not that great but you can go left past the now deserted little Maho bay and continue to Maho proper with good fish populations among the rock outcroppings at the points.

The beach is lovely, great snorkeling and the water is special. The parking and the road to the beach is an embarrassment and not safe. This is mostly true everywhere on St. John, but the trip is worth it. Be sure to have a Jeep.

Our favorite beach in St John, it is pristine and perfectly clear waters to see angel fish, sting rays, barracudas. There are low trees along the beach for shade and parking on the roadway in. It is not usually crowded.

Francis Bay is a beautiful beach, that offers great snorkeling along the rocky shoreline along the right side of the beach. Francis also offers a large space for sun lovers, shade trees for you when you get more than enough sun, picnic tables for a packed lunch and bathroom facilities. The view is amazing! We saw stingrays gliding through the water effortlessly and brown pelicans diving for fish. A must see when on St. John USVI!

Francis Bay has a very nice sandy beach with easy snorkeling to see small fish and turtles. Not all beaches get afternoon sun like Francis bay which makes it a great place to spend the day with kids.

Most of the beaches are a little crowded on the north side of St. John. So, you need to arrive early to get the best spots. Even so, don't be turned away if you have to park in the second lot as there is a lot of room at the beach.

Or, you can arrive later in the afternoon when people are beginning to leave and enjoy 3-4 hours of sun and a terrific sunset!
