“Best hike in the park”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

A short mile one way with a few ups and downs. The trail follows the shore of Salt Pond Bay, then down and along a blue cobblestone beach before climbing to the ridge to the windy western side with high cliffs above the sea. The trail continues on for a short distance to Ram Head point, the southern most point on St. John. Windy but beautiful views from the point and all along the trail. This little peninsula was the last refuge for slaves who revolted, in the early 1800's I think, and, rather than being captured and returned to slavery, commited suicide by jumping from the high cliffs to the rocks below.

“Super fun trail”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

A great trail, with stunning variety.... gorgeous cactuses, geikos! gorgeous views of the sea from many sides...much longer seeming that 1 mile, as it is described. Bring good shoes and water. But immensely worth it!!!

“Amazing Views”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

The hike to Ram's Head from Salt Pond is easy to navigate and slightly strenuous, but doable. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen as it is very sunny, hot, but so beautiful!
