Found Vie's as part of tour of island with relatives...

Great location near a quiet beach - which costs $2.50 to use - but the water is warm and Vie (I presume) has provided guests with changing and restroom facilities as part of the experience.

Food is good, the conch fritters were small, but perfectly formed and there was enough room for our party of seven to chill out and drink beer in comfort. Having spent the majority of the day trip in a car, just being able to dip my toes in the ocean was nice, especially as the beach was unspoiled by a plethora of development that could easily spoil this spot.

We had the garlic chicken, which is served with rice and beans and johnnycake. The fried chicken was crispy and tasty, not greasy, but so moist. The beans and rice were perfectly seasoned. The johnnycake was a hot fresh donut with honey. Soooo delicious, hot and fresh. The sweetened ice tea is a perfect pairing. Don't miss this gem for lunch before or after a snorkel!

Came here with high expectations due to the glowing reviews. Seems like everyone is too blissed out on the amazingness of St. John and the warm Caribbean sun to judge what good food is. Don't get me wrong, the food was ok, just not great. I tried the conch fritters (it was hard to find any chunks of actual conch in there; it was mostly filler), some johnny cake (yummy!), beans and rice (average), and guava tart (tasted like a packaged Hostess pie... not kidding). Others in the party had the garlic chicken, which was reportedly fine. Service was friendly. Would we come back? Nope, but I'm glad to have partaken in an island tradition, and it was nice to support this small family business. If you go, get there before lunch rush... it can take a while.

Being out on this part of the island is great for the rugged solitude but having a place like Vie's nearby is awesome. Using their beach and planning around lunches here became the highlight of our trip.

TRY THE CURRY! On the first day we tried the garlic chicken we tried the jonny cakes we tried the conch fritters. All good but the true winner was the Curry dish which we only ordered as an afterthought and shared.... That curry was so amazing that for the remainder of the trip it was all I ordered from Vies.

Vies can be costly slow and crowded: bring plenty of cash here - the price is quite high for a "shack" and if you are drinking beers and paying for the beach too it can add up fast. We were three adults and two kids - i was surprised we spent over sixty dollars just grabbing what seemed like a quick cheap lunch our first time there and we were sharing entrees among us - kind of pricey for a beach shack (i'm used to $2 tacos) but in my view fully worth it for the convenience and flavor.

When they get crowded at lunch and it can take a long time for food. one time our groups food was served in a very staggered way such that half our group had already long since finished eating by the time the rest of us were served the same curry dish - (which you would think could be served from a crockpot without much fanfare) However, being on vacation with only beach plans nobody was getting too miffed about the wait.

We gladly paid for the luxury of using their fantastic quiet beach. cost included the use of comfy chairs, and it was just very relaxing not having to schlep all the usual stuff, a cooler and chairs and water -- knowing we could lunch on their delicious foods and have drinks whenever we needed it while on the beach was great. This place is a gem.

We make it out to Vie's at least once during our yearly trip to St. John. Her conch fritters are probably the best on the whole island. We love Vie's but are sad to see it getting busier each year... we felt like it was our little secret! Obviously not with a few hundred reviews LOL Guess our secret is out!
