“Don't only go to eat!”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

It was getting a bit late for lunch when we came across a lot of vehicles carelessly abandoned outside a shack and there was just one space for our car. The place was mobbed but there were two empty stools at the bar that we grabbed so we could case the joint.
A lovely lady dispensing drinks said 'hello' passing us menus just as a group at a table left so we moved right in. All buzz, interesting, happy place so we stayed a bit, had something cool to drink and a reasonable burger - should have had something fishy as rather appealing plates kept passing by. We will know next time. The car survived!!!
Great to be there for the atmosphere alone

“A good Go-To restaurant”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

When we arrived for our reservation (absolutely on-time), the hostess hostiley told us we were 20 minutes late. After advising her otherwise, she dropped thagt subject and seated us relatively soon after we refused to wait at the bar and seemed to be jamming up her entry way. The drinks were cold and good. Three of our party had the grouper and it was fine, not great, just fine. I had pasta with prosciutto and chicken. It was wonderful and my only slight complaint is that is was so good that it didn't need the chicken on it. In fact, the chicken kinda didn't fit with the dish and I didn't eat much of it. The creamy, garlicy past was great!

“Absolutely the best meal we had on st Thomas or St. John”
Reviewed April 11, 2013 via mobile

Don't believe the negative or mediocre reviews, every aspect of our meal at shipwrecks was first rate. Service was friendly and with a smile, and the food was incredible. The Mahi Mahi had one of the best seasonings I have ever tasted, and the pico de gallo shrimp scampi my wife had was great as well. This is a must visit place near coral bay.

“Fun Place; so-so food”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

We don't really go to Shipwreck Landing for gourmet food. The food is fine but not fantastic. It's a fun place right across the street from the water. Many nights they have local music. All ages would be welcome here. When it gets crowded the staff gets pretty hassled. On our last visit the bartender refused to make a virgin frozen drink for example.

“Better options with nice people nearby”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

The readers digest version:
Mediocre food / bad watered down drinks / poor service - if you want excellent food with a view in Coral Bay goto Miss Lucy's

The details (this could be entertaining):
We are a party of seven - 4 adults and 3 kids. When we arrived for lunch the place was empty and the waitress was immediately indifferent. The Gazpacho was actually good and so was the grilled chicken sandwich but the quesadilla was awful and the fries they served us were still frozen. The drink special which we all ordered appeared virgin which for the price was a disappointment. Anyhow, $200 later and after many kind thank yous to the cold waitress we go out to our car and find that the key on our rental is broken and the car will not open. I call the rental car place and they tell me it will be a 2 hour wait (ouch). So my mother-in-law inquires at the bar about their ability to help us. Mind you, we are a family of 4 adults and 3 small children on vacation and this is a restaurant where we just spent $200 FOR LUNCH. Her response - for $100 she can call a guy who works at the restaurant that can open the door. Wow. These people should be ashamed. Thankfully our car rental agency came all the way from Cruz Bay to Coral Bay in 45 minutes to Help Us Out. I love this little island and the people here but regardless of where you are in the world there is human decency and then there is extortion - if you want nice people with good food and a view in Coral Bay - goto Miss Lucy's
