I have never written a review and not normally one to complain, but felt it necessary to let people know how our stay was......Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. The room was fine, however there was no hair dryer and in order to watch a DVD on the player provided we were required to move the tv stand and dressing table to reach a plug. More importantly there was no hot water, and when we went to make enquiries about this we were told to wait 10 minutes - that didn't help. And we were left shivering in our swimming costumes waiting for hot water, which never came.

For dinner we were told to head down any time as tables were automatically reserved for guests. Even so we told them what time we would be down. We were then made to wait nearly an hour for a table as were the couple next to us. The food was then not as we had hoped. The starters were nice, however the lamb I had for main was very fatty, and the chips were obviously just frozen chips. Not worth the nearly £17 for the main course.

Breakfast was equally chaotic, no one saw to us until we chased down 2 different members of staff for cups, plates and knives and forks for our table. Breakfast was served until 11am, yet when we went down at 10am there was little left and no one seemed to replenish it. We didn't have cooked breakfast, as others have commented for £110 per night we had hoped it would be included.

The spa was ok, though nothing special. although we were provided with robes we had to walk bare foot to the spa as slippers cost an extra £1.50! Which seemed ridiculous for a spa hotel!

The only saving grace was the location, we had a lovely walk around some local waterfalls, but won't be recommending a stay here to others.

Thank you for review on Trip Advisor and I am so sorry everything was not as would have been wished and hope you will accept my apologies.

We had a boiler breakdown which lead to hot water issues and I appreciate the inconvenience this must have caused. The lamb dish does have an element of fat as this enhances the flavour and I am sorry if this is more than you would have liked, and I can assure you we dont use frozen chips.......perish the thought!

Breakfast can be chaotic as it is in many hotels on busy mornings and try as we may most guests do like to have breakfast at roughly the same time which logistically can cause problems. We offer a very comprehensive cold choice for breakfast with a wide range of fruits, compotes, cereals, breads, croissants, bagels, teas, coffee and even waffles. For the few guests that do want a full cooked breakfast then we make a small additional charge [less than Little Chef would charge and far better quality], rather than charge every guest for something they dont want by "including" it in the price.

Hairdryers regrettably do tend to find their way into guests cases!

I do hope that you will use us again and I assure you of my best attention at all times.

Kindest regards

David

I have just returned after spending a one night spa break with a friend and everything about this hotel is wonderful.
The price of the break included an allowance towards lunch and dinner and the food here is wonderful with an extensive menu to choose from. We had several treatments each in the spa (myself with Vicky) which were lovely and relaxing.
All the staff we had dealings with could not have been more friendly and helpful, with nothing being too much trouble. I will certainly be returning, sooner rather than later.

We have just returned from a 2 night break at Nant Ddu. It was brilliant. The hotel was clean and comfortable. All the staff we met were so friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious and such good value.

Great location for exploring the Brecon Beacons. We hiked and biked and it was lovely to relax in the spa after busy days out and about.

We will definitely return.

After a day of hiking in the lovely Brecon Beacons it was a delight to use the swimmingpool and sauna area. Friendly staff. we had a good meal in the pub. For us this hotel was very good value for money.

Have just had a two night stay as part of our effort to see 15 seconds of the Tour Of Britain cycle race as they flash past!

OK, our first impression wasn't too positive - the superior room we booked was looking somewhat tired. While the room was perfectly clean and reasonably well equiped, the carpet was worn/stained, the settee was faded (although still comfortable!) and there was some rotting timber around the base of the shower, peeling paint above the shower..... To be honest, it's nothing that a quick refurb couldn't put right but when you pay over £100 per night for a room, you have certain expectations. The room was spacious but there's no fridge/mini-bar nor is WiFi currently available in the bedrooms. To our surprise, we were able to get an excellent reception via our mobile broadband dongle so the lack of WiFi didn't cause us a problem.

The bed proved to be very comfortable and despite thye close proximety of the main road we didn't experience any road noise on the back of the hotel.

We took advantage of some of the spa facilities - a decent size swimming pool (much larger that your average hotel pool!), steam room and sauna. We didn't have time to use the gym but a quick look around indicated a good range of high quality equipment.

The restaurant was also a pleasant surprise - a good choice of starters and mains and all at very reasonable prices - on both nights of our visit, the restaurant and bar area were quite busy and I can see why. This is good honest food at a sensible price.
A buffet breakfast is included in the room price with hot food available subject to a surcharge of only £4.94 - no problem with that.
Finally, the staff - a true asset to the hotel. Couldn't wish to meet a nicer group of people.
Having stated that the state of decoration is a little tired, it would not put us off returning to this hotel. The facilities, value in the restaurant and friendly staff more than make up for it.

Stayed here for one night, travelling on business. The new part of the hotel is lovely, which included the pool area and restaurant. The pool, sauna and spa pool were clean and very modern. The restaurant was excellent and the food delicious. The menu had a good variety to choose from and my colleagues & I all throughly enjoyed our choices. I had a room in the older part of the hotel, the bed was extremely comfortable and room very warm, the only disappointing part was that there was no shower in the bathroom, just a bath and maybe needed some refurbishment.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the refurbished part of the hotel

Lovely hotel, very helpful staff. Great restaurant with good food! Nice pub for an alternative meal. Very friendly atmosphere. Clean swimming pool. Would stay here again. The local town was a short drive away and the Brecon beacons had amazing views.
