“Great time at Elysian”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2014

I took my mother to St. Thomas for a mini vacation and we stayed at the elysian we were in building y and we were on the 3rd floor so the view was not the greatest saw more of the palm tree tops than the beach but you could see the boats and the sea very clearly. the staff is wonderful we arrived on a Saturday and just as the free bus to the local supermarket was talking off so they let us keep our stuff at the front desk and take the van to the market to get our shopping done no matter how long you are going to stay on the island I suggest you do some shopping at a local supermarket and eat out only once a day it will help keep the cost down. the pool, waterfall and sauna are really nice and kept clean. We had a great time here it was our first visit but it will not be the last. The only downfall was the fact that the resort is hilling and my mother is a bit elderly and found it hard to make the climb everyday so I was always on the lookout for the golf carts and staff vehicles to give us a lift to the beach and pool which more than not they were available and always willing to give us a ride. We stayed here for 4 days and we used taxi instead of renting a car and we found it worked out well for us this way the taxi is regulated and we took a taxi at least once each day but it still came out cheaper than renting a car but there was just the 2 of us.

Room Tip: Rooms closer to pool and beach are better due to hills.

my daughter and I had the opportunity to have dinner at Sangria's on April 17 after a day on their beach. I can't say enough about the service Karen provided ... she was a true pro. I would also say that dinner was one of the best values on the island. My daughter had a big salad with Mahi tuna and I had the "half pound" bacon BBQ burger ... yes I said half pound. I almost hesitate reviewing this resort because I'd like to keep it the "best kept secret". But I know that wouldn't be appropriate so this resort gets my "highest excellent" rating and I would sincerely suggest you book your next vacation there.

Amazing view from our room of Cow Pet Bay. Quiet resort with all you need here which makes it great for families. Also Joseph the on-site taxi driver is the best and most affordable on the island and will take you anywhere.
I don't understand some people's negative comments on this resort except not realizing the big difference in this area vs continental US Wyndham vacationers expecting same large condos with unlimited ammenities. Life here is relaxed but staff are very helpful. At check in we were taken to our room via shuttle and shown around. Nice. Yes a lit of stairs but if you read you are for warned about this and should not even come to this area if you can't have a lot of stairs. It's like built in personal training every day. :-)
Rooms are small but no smaller than standard hotel room but you get very large bathroom and a kitchenette. Comfortable Wyndham beds and pillows, etc.
Two restaurants on site and many out door water activities and private beach. Red Hook just 5 minutes away.
I wouldn't hesitate staying here again.

We are enjoying our stay at Elysian Beach Resort through our Wyndham Worldmark Timeshare. It is a great property.

We are in Building Y, 4th floor and get a clear view of the yacht harbor. The resort beach , swimming pool with a mini water fall and the sauna are nice. Hotel staff is friendly and responsive.
The two restaurants on the property are wonderful - great food with ocean front dining. At the carribean fish market we had a dinner yesterday with live piano music. The small kitchen in the room was without an oven (in 1 bed room unit) though was very helpful.

We love the short ride to the Red Hook area for the car ferry to St. John or trips to BVI.
Only downside was the internet access was downright poor - even in the lobby. But, this is a blessing in disguise as far as I saw it. Nice to be disconnected to the web for a few days. Except for leaving this review out of an internet cafe on our way to Coki beach .. BTW, we found Coki beach a lot more nicer with more fishes that the Megan's Beach.

Room Tip: Bldg X and Y top floor (4th Floor).

Just returned from 10 days at the Elysian. We were very happy with our stay. The grounds were well maintained, the front desk staff always friendly (thanks Tiffany for all your help), the beach had a friendly and safe atmosphere, the beach hut staff helpful, and the housekeeping staff did a refresh mid stay for us. We decided to use taxis for our stay - no problems. Joseph drove us most of the time - quite a fine gentleman. The resort location (close to Red Hook) was very convenient to the St John ferry and restaurants. On Wed and Sat evenings, the resort provides a complementary shuttle over to Food Center so we could stock up. The snorkeling was fairly good here - visibility was not great regardless of where we went. We even got to see the St Thomas Yacht Club's Regatta - they invited resort guests over to join in the fun.

This was our first time staying at the Elysian and we definetely plan to return. The grounds are beautifully maintained - room was nice and spacious, pretty much updated. The Sangria's restaurant was exceptionally good and reasonable, great to have an on site restaurant/bar. We did not eat at the Carribean Fish Market so I cant say how it is. There was an issue with our room not having a safe, but after bringing it to their attention maintenance came over and installed one in about 15 minutes. this location was the best, close to Red Hook and Sapphire where you catch the New Horizons dinner cruise which I would highly recommend! Capt. Dan and his crew were awesome! We also did a day sail/snorkel package on the Nightwind Charter that was just as awesome! Having a pool bar was very nice also and Jill the bartender ROCKS!!!
Cant wait to come back.

We totally enjoyed our week . the Thia Masuse is amazing. resatruants are good. very pictures.
It's a climb up and down with asthma a bit of a challenge, you can get a shuttle if you are willing to wait. unit has no stove top or oven.
great staff all over except front desk, the seemed frustrated with issues such as cold pool to hot or to cold hot tub. the Iguanas were a little intimidating because the pooped all over and no one cleaned it UP the pool bar staff was the best.
