Owner description: A favorite of windsurfers, the beach has fine white sand and beautiful views of St. John and offshore cays, and offers excellent snorkeling at the reef to the east, near Pettyklip Point.

“Nice beach”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

Nice beach and not as packed as most. There's a lot of room so you can find your spot. It does have a little seaweed, though.

“nice beach”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

The properties at Sapphire Beach look a little dilapidated. But we went there for the snorkeling and had a great time.

“Very rough beach and current/waves”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

We were told there was great snorkling...and there was sea grass...however the beach entry was horrible. Very rocky and rough. Water was super merky and very few fish. Not good for a relaxing swim OR snorkeling. We went 3 times and each time was the same. We have heard there are sea turtle in the grass on the far left but never saw any.

“Not good for swimming”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

The waves were very high and the water is rocky. Highly recommend water shoes if you want to swim. We did not snorkel here so I cannot attest to that. We were there on July 4th and did get to see the fireworks in St. John from the point at this beach. I will not return to this beach when I visit again.
