A long, picture perfect white sand beach. Protected from wind but still with plenty of great wave action! Head to the far west end of he beach for a little more space/fewer people and a bit more shade!

This is a very pretty place to visit. There is a small charge per person for entry but the beach, parking area, and water are all simply great. Everyone there seemed to be having a wonderful time. I know that we did. This is a must place to visit for a day.

No better beach in the world. Can get busy but go to the far left and you find more room. This is the best sand and clearest water you ever experience. The cost is $4 pp and $2 to park the car. Lots of bathrooms and picnic tables. Only draw back is the lifeguards are aggressive keeping in the boundary and not horsing around. I prefer no lifeguards but on a beach this popular that is not workable. This beach has been ratted #1 in the world a number of times and pretty much on everyone top 10 list.

We've been to Magen's Bay several times over the years, either sailing a bareboat charter or staying in a condo nearby. It is a very long crescent sandy beach lined with palms, quite breathtaking. The water is warm with soft sand bottom, perfect for children. If you don a snorkel mask, you can see huge schools of tiny fish near shore. There are no hazards such as sea urchins so it's safe for the kids to enjoy!

If you go on a day with many cruise ships in Charlotte Amalie, then it will be crowded especially near the Bar/restrooms and sometimes noisy if there are beach BBQ's in progress. Go to the far end of the beach where there a few people and if you have a choice go on a day with less cruise ships.

I have found the beach mostly clean, the white sand appealing. If there is dirt, it's usually from inconsiderate people leaving garbage or cigarette butts in the sand, but you can find this anywhere there are people.

There is an open air covered beach bar and fast-food restaurant adequate for a day at the beach. There is also a shop that carries a good selection of swimwear, cover-ups, tees, beach toys, sunscreen, souvenirs etc...Chairs are for rent but a blanket or towel is likely all you need for relaxing in the sand.

There are lots of picnic tables and shelter if it rains. A treat are the weddings sometimes held on days when there are fewer cruise ships, you get to see the bride and entourage. One day we were entertained by a violinist during a wedding. Such a great place for nuptials!

For nature lovers, there are seabirds to watch so bring your binoculars: Brown Booby, Royal Tern, Great Frigatebird and often Green or Tri-coloured Herons in the mangrove area. There are also Pearly-eyed Thrashers, Mockingbirds, Antillean Crested Hummingbirds, Grey Kingbirds and iguanas at the beach and you might glimpse a mongoose. A wonderful trail winds its ways up the protected forest behind the beach where you will see more species. Ask at the entrance for info.

You pay the entrance fee because it is a park and there are maintenance and equipment costs associated with a park. It is a protected area, thank goodness there was foresight to do this so we can all enjoy this piece of paradise.

This was my second time to beach. I think it is losing its appeal. It was crowded and you have to pay a fee just to enter, plus another fee if you want a chaise lounge. Don't get me wrong it is a beautiful setting, great water and nice snorkeling, but I hated the crowds. There is unspoken etiquette for beaches but people seem to have no manners. We stopped here from a cruise and we stopped at other islands that had many more nicer beaches and didn't charge. I would use this port to shop or pub crawl and leave Antigua or Tortola for the beach scene. Much nicer hands down and non fees!
