“Best trip ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

The rooms were wonderful, clean, updated. The only complaint was the iguana's by the bar and pool and the sand fleas. If you use an off wipe on your ankles while sitting at the bar you won't get bit. The iguana problem is a nuisance. the staff was very helpful in recommendations of restaurants in the area. Also do not recommend renting a car. Roads are narrow and curvy and you drive on the wrong side of the road.

Room Tip: Recommend Tortola Building any floor

We are owners here and have not been here for 3 years. Since we have been here there have been many improvements to the beach, restarurants, and shuttle service. We also enjoyed the improvements at the Marriott Hotel. The beach is still rocky but swimable. We never had problems gettting lawn chairs at the pool or beach. There were 7 adults so we had 2 units in the Tortola building (which we loved the location of this building) we had two parking spots for our vehicles and did not have problems finding parking spots. The resort had music from 6-8 about everynight. We had the breakfast buffett 2 times and everyone like it. We also had sandwiches by the pool and they were all good. The mixed drinks are pricey but we always stock up at ther liquor store and bring our own. Happy hour is 4-6. Our favorite day trips are we love taking our jeeps on the car barge and going over to St John- we had a blast at Francis Bay this year. We also love takign a day trip to BVI - In the past we have always went on the Breakaways trip to the BVI, but this year we did a private charter with Stan and had a blast!!! It was our Favorite day...Can't go wrong at the Soggy Dollar-the food and drinks. We ate at some good restaurants but really enjoyed Mim's this year. Can't wait to go back!!!

Room Tip: High Floor for spectacular views!!!

We stayed here for a few nights during our honeymoon as my parents are condo owners and gave it to us a as a gift. The condos are very nice, two bedrooms with a really nice kitchen and view. We stayed on the second floor of the St. John building and still could see a decent amount. We stayed at the Frenchman's Reef later in the week and for us that was a better honeymooning fit. There were fewer families and the beach was larger. The Cove was very nice but seemed a bit more geared toward families.

Room Tip: Stayed on the second floor of St. John and could still see a good amount. I saw people complaining a...

This was our third year staying at Frenchman's Cove. The two bedroom units are beautiful and well furnished. The beds are comfortable. The kitchens are well applianced with everything you need. The infinity pool is beautiful. The beach is nice but small and you cant walk it. If your looking for a mile long beach don't go to St. Thomas as all the beaches I have been to are small but very pretty.

Room Tip: This resort is built into the hills. If you cant walk up or down stairs it may be difficult. Elevato...

Enjoyed a great week here with friends and overall very pleased. Being very familiar with Marriott timeshares as an owner of two, the villas are just what you expect. They 're gorgeous and spacious making time in the unit very comfortable. I personally have a bad back so beds were too soft for me but no one else in my party had issues. The resort itself lacks a little with a mediocre pool and beach area but this is easily solved by taking the free shuttle to morningstar beach. The dining is ok for breakfast or lunch but dinner is tough if you actually like good healthy food. Our last night we were just too tired to venture out so we ordered the steaks. All came overcooked and tough to eat. Salad was ok. Wines are left out so forget red, they re sadly ruined by the heat and weather. Shame they don t just get proper wine coolers to store. Morningstar is leaps above Cove area with gorgeous pool and beach area enhanced by great food at Coco Joe's. Spa was closed, a big disappointment for the ladies. Tip: Check out jazz friday night at Tavern on the Waterfront. Great music, medicore food. When traveling to island beaches, note cruise ship crowds.

Room Tip: Bldgs are all along cliff requiring lots of walking up and down and onto several elevators. I wouldn...

My husband and I haven't been to St. Thomas in 20 years....so we decided.....let's go back! We are timeshare owners at the Surf Club in Aruba and exchanged two weeks for St. Thomas Frechman's Cove. Here's what we liked: Staff was friendly and helpful, our two bedroom unit was clean and comfortable, beach was very nice and so was the pool....and to top if off.....the weather was absolutely GORGEOUS!!! And plenty of activities for guests - if you wish to participate. *My husband loved the "make your own sundae" at the activities desk which they had a few times a week! Here's what we didn't like: compared to the Aruba Surf Club and Ocean Club and the St. Kitt's Beach Club - the Frenchman's Cove is small. Beach is very nice - but in peak season - the beach will be sooooo crowded - which for me is a huge turn-off. The pool was very busy too so I can only imagine what it's going to be like in peak season....just like a bunch of sardines in a can......YUCK! There is only one restaurant on the property that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and hosts a variety of Happy Hours. Food is good but how many times can you eat there? Wish there was another place on property but there is a free shuttle to Marriott Frenchman's Reef so other close by dining options are available. And....just a warning to those who have any problems walking - the property is built on a cliff so there are hills and stairs everywhere on the property. Luckily we don't have any walking issues but if you do, please be careful. Overall - we did enjoy our stay at the Frechman's Cove and if we go back to St. Thomas we would probably stay there again....and maybe stay a night or two at the Frenchman's Reef just for a little variety.

We are Marriott owners at this resort and have previously had a one week stay. This year we stayed for two weeks. We asked for an upper floor apartment in the Tortola building and were not disappointed. The views from our room were fantastic but to be fair most rooms have a great view of the sea. We saw a turtle come up for a breath of air from our balcony and the sight of the huge cruise ships floating past into Charlotte Amelie is one that will stay with you. This is a lovely resort but you do need to get out and explore the island. There are so many gorgeous beaches tucked away. A four wheel drive hire car is a must. St Thomas is a beautiful island with everything you could need on it. You need to drive slow but nothing takes too long to get to. It is always busier when the cruise ships are in so plan your days out around them. However after a day exploring, it is always lovely to get back to the luxury of your apartment. A home from home with everything you could need to hand and THE most comfy beds you will ever sleep in. Minor grumble is the pool area gets a bit busy at happy hour and on "owners party" night which is usually a Monday, and is sometimes a little like Butlins with bingo etc but you have the choice whether you take part or not. The pier is a great addition. We will be back next year.
