Fantastic view, great room in Carribean style and colors, delicious breakfast and very good service from Wendy! All in all a very nice experience, and much better than most hotels! :) Pity it is such a long travel away from home!

An exceptional B & B. Wendy and Doug go out of their way to make their guests comfortable. The view of the town and the cruise ships in the bay from their guest rooms, patios and pool is great. A short walk down the hill to the shops or Charlotte Amalie restaurants. Need a taxi for a tour or dinner reservations, Wendy handles it all. But the exceptional part are the breakfasts. They are not only delicious with a variety of quiche, fresh fruit, bacon, waffles, muffins, juices, frappes etc but the artistry of the presentation. An immaculate property

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Bellavista. Wendy was a first class hospitality professional. We loved exploring the St Thomas and St Johns and the BVIs and then returning to to the B & B for total relaxation. As previously mentioned, the views are amazing. We were very impressed with Wendy and her customer service. On our arrival, a huge downpour opened and Wendy was there with umbrellas and a friendly smile. I also noticed her spending just the right amount of time with each of her guests.

We also enjoyed meeting some very nice guests from Vancouver, Columbia, Norway, North Dakota and Maine.

Highly recommended.

I should have written sooner. My wife and I spent our 35 anniversery at Bellavista. Wendy and Doug are the nicest people. The property is beautiful, as are the views of Charlotte Amalie. There is always something blooming. I can't wait to go back for another visit. Wendy's breakfast are all very good. It is a steep walk to get back up from the shopping area, but not very far. Everything is very comfortable, the living room area is completely open. We rented a car for our stay and parking on the narrow street is tight it is doable. My wife and I like to frequent beaches so a car was something we needed on the island.

Room Tip: Two of the rooms have views of the city and harbor. but they are all nice

We will miss Wendy and Doug this winter for the first time in several years. We feel blessed to say that we have lost count of the number of times we have been to Bellavista in the last 5 years or so...10, maybe more. We knew the first time we visited and walked down the stairs past the night blooming jasmine, and saw the spectacular view of Charlotte Amalie, the gorgeous and beautifully maintained property with the cruise ships in the distance, that we found someplace very special. A confluence of factors will keep us away in the short term...flights, conflicting schedules, a junior in the midst of college research, etc. We consider Bellavista to be more than just accommodations while enjoying St. Thomas, it is a place where it feels like home and we are proud to call Wendy and Doug our friends. When we are able to get away for a few days, this is where we will be.

This review is long overdue.
I spent the second half of my honeymoon at this wonderful bed & breakfast. The first half was spent at the Ritz-Carlton, which was less than memorable. If I were to do it over again, I would've stayed longer at this B&B.

We came during a time where there were no other guests, so we were able to upgrade to a larger room. Wendy cooked us a delicious breakfast in the mornings and we were able to eat out on the porch overlooking the hillside and the water. At night if we got the munchies, we had access to some snacks (granola bars, etc) and beverages. The living room is well-decorated with plenty of choices in books and magazines to browse through.

Getting to the B&B is a bit confusing, as it winds up the hills and through some residential neighborhoods that aren't as nice as BellaVista. There's a small sign outside, next to a gated door that leads to the property. We drove at night, and had a bit of difficulty finding the property.

Otherwise, this was a wonderful place to stay and walkable (bit of an incline) down to small shops and restaurants in town.

Room Tip: Stayed in the Bambooshay room which was great and had a patio area that overlooked the hillside

I really should have written a review on Bellavista sooner. We visited the Bellavista in August 2008. The owner, Wendy, was very helpful from the time we inquired about reservations until we checked out. She provided a few tips on travel/arrival and once we were there she provided all kinds of suggestions on restaurants and attractions that help make our vacation memorable.
We stayed in the Bambooshay room--it has a/c and a beautiful view overlooking Charlotte Amalie, clean, and well maintained. The living area is open air. The kitchen and dining area was where were enjoyed breakfast, prepared by none other than Miss Wendy herself. I couldn't help but take picures of the food--it was displayed so beautifully on our plates and tasted just as fantastic!
We look forward to a return trip to St Thomas and a future stay at Bellavista!
