We read about Magic Ice on this website and decided to try it while on a cruise last week. It is located right in town and the price per person is $20. This was offered as an excursion on the cruise ship, but they were charging over $30 a person--probably because it included a taxi ride. This was definitely something different and I enjoyed it. There were at least 3 dozen ice sculptures and an ice slide, which is a lot of fun.

Located downtown close to all of the stores, Magic Ice is a unique exhibit and worth experiencing, takes only 5 minutes to see it all but you'll want to spend a little more time to admire the work. As stated cover-ups are provided, you will be too cold to stay long without them, and every item is dry-cleaned before worn again.
If in town spend a little time and cool off at the same time while enjoying a cold banana rum shot!

Nice refreshing way to beat the heat! Magic Ice is located right off the main street of Waterfront Veterans Drive. You can book through Cruise lines ($?) or just show up. It cost $20 with a shot of rum and you keep the glass. The building is 25 degrees F. They have a great selection of ice sculptures inside that get replaced a few times a year. We found taking pictures better with flash. There is no time limit, but most people probably stay about 15-30 minutes. They provide Parkas, leg cover-ups and gloves. It’s a fun way to spend time in the shopping area with a good shot of flavored rum at the end.

If you are visiting St. Thomas and want something different and unusual to do, go to Magic Ice! This amazing display of ice sculptures gives the history of Caribbean life from its early days to the present time. It took sixteen artists 2-1/2 months to make. Imagine going through a museum, but this one is entirely made up of ice sculptures. Everything is ice, including the walls! Capes, gloves, and leg warmers are provided so you don't freeze. You also given a shot of rum at the magnificent pirate ship ice bar. You can take home the rum glass as a souvenir. It may be expensive to enter, but in warm temperatures on a tropical island, this display is too cool! It is a must-see when you visit St. Thomas!

We spent $20 per person for a really cool experience like nothing we have seen before. The ice sculptures were huge and really beautiful. The lighting was excellent which really added to the experience. Our tour guide gave a lot of details about how it was created, and of course we enjoyed the rum shots! When we come back we are bringing our friends.
