“Hidden and Beautiful”
Reviewed June 12, 2012

As my girlfriends an I shopped for sunglasses, we stumbled upon the "beer garden". We walked down an ally way filled with beautiful plants and to end upon a bar with a gracious gentleman behind it. We ordered margarhitas and they were the BEST!!!!!! highly reccomend!!!

“A hidden oasis on Charlotte Amalie's bustling Main Street”
Reviewed March 10, 2012

If you're prone to be dazzled by the endless parade of jewelry stores on Charlotte Amalie's Main Street, you might just walk by the Beer Garden without noticing it. Thank goodness we did! It's located just off the northwest corner of Main Street and Gutters Gade. The narrow, tree-shaded passageway leads you into a cool, quiet courtyard nestled among several historic buildings. If we hadn't spied the chalkboard list of beers, we might have missed it completely, which would have been too bad.

There are a few tables just outside the door, tucked in among lush tropical plants, but the best place to be is bellied up to the bar so you can talk to Nala the bartender. There are a wide variety of bottled beers grouped by price - 2 for $5, 2 for $6, and 2 for $7. It doesn't get much simpler than that.

The Beer Garden is tailor made for people who like to greet perfect strangers like old friends when they, like you, wander in off the street in search of a break from the Main Street madness. We ended up spending more than an hour in the bar, then going to dinner with some people we met there.

The owners are working on providing a food menu and more in the way of frozen/mixed drinks. The sample pina colada was yummy. There was also a small gift shop, but we didn't check it out.

I wish I had taken some pictures. Hopefully someone else will post some!
