My girlfriend and I did this Eco-tour to hassel island and absolutly loved it!. We had a small group, only four of us. We left on kayak with our guide Eli . During the paddle to the island we got some great background history on the things we would see there. When we got to hassel island we hiked for about for about 45 min total (it can be a tough little hike in the sun). We stopped at several buildings from different time periods in the islands history along the way, Eli gave us the history on the buildings and the island and all the plant and animal life . This was best thing we did on st Thomas, and would strongly suggest this for anyone who would like a little adventure and some history along the way. Our guide was the best part of the trip, it was like going on a hike with a buddy we have known for years. To top it off, after we got back Eli got us some free drinks at the Loony Bien. (much needed after the trip)

My wife and I took the Hassel Island Kayak tour and we really enjoyed it. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the island wildlife, history and culture from the early colonial period up to present day. It was the highlight of our trip to St. Thomas and we would highly recommend it.

Took half day eco tour with Jason on 3-5-12. It was a bit windy but the kayaking was fun and not as strenous as I had expected. The hike to the ruins of Hassel Island was informative and again not overly strenuous. Be sure to have closed toed sandals or tennis shoes for the hike. After the hike we snorkled. Saw some great coral and good variety of fish as well as one sea turtle. Jason was great at identifying the fish for us. Then a short paddle to another beach and a visit to the Creque railway and ship repair. The trip was a great way to spend just a bit mnore than half a day.

My wife and I went on the 3 hour tour of Hassel Island and had a great time. our tour guide Jason was knowledgeable and fun to be around! Our vacation rental was on the east side of St Thomas away from the the crowds so when we arrived in Charlotte Amalie we were surprised how over crowded it was from cruise ships. However, this trip was a great way to escape those crowds and learn about the rich history of the area and specifically the hidden beauty of Hassel Island.

We were in port in St Thomas last week and had the pleasure of heading out on a kayak/hike/snorkel adventure to the Hassel ISland Natl Park. The tour guides took us on a RT kayak trip around the entire island with a couple of stops for rest/historical background and even some snorkeling. We had a group of 16 (the max) and toodled around in two person kayaks. The tour is not for the timid or less exercize inclined. The paddling can be rigourous at times and the water can be choppy but if you are up for a rugges trip-this is the place to go. We had an absolute blast! I am already planning a return trip for my other pals who couldn't make it.
