The bird show is free out front of the butterfly farm. I highly recommend the bird show and the bird lady will take your photo with the birds on you, picture was large and cost $20 but she also takes a photo with your camera or phone that way you can upload photos or print your own copies.

A very cute little attraction. Staff are warm and friendly. We recommend an early visit here, as that is when the butterflies are most active. Don't panic if they land on you! These creature are very docile and friendly. On your way out, visit the gift shop and make a donation! And the bird show is something to see! WOW!

We stopped in St.Thomas during our cruise on ms.Westerdam (Jazz Cruise 2013 / January).
We were looking for something different to do besides shopping. Here is what we thought of the Butterfly Garden...
Price of 12.00 per person is in line with what you pay for on the island.
Better signage is needed (This place is past the shopping area - Runs right along the docks - as far back as you can go. A long Green fence marks the start of your walk to the enterance). We did not get to spend as much time to get our 12.00 worth due to the lenght of time it took us to find it.
The blue butterflies were very beautiful and QUICK. Many different types to look at.
We saw some hummingbirds - but no other birds were in sight.
If you want to get off your ship and not shop - this is a nice place to go. They have places for you to sit and relax. If you are a photographer, it's a great place for you!

We loved the Butterfly Garden, and we felt it was pricey for the space and short amount of time spent there. If you are in Charlotte Amalie for a cruise, it's a really short walk from the pier. We didn't know about any parrot show mentioned in the other reviews. It was a quiet, tranquil oasis and gave us a sense of nature and peace. We liked the guide who was patient with the people who asked endless questions. We also like the little bench to sit and just watch the butterflies flitting around. Some of them are absolutely gorgeous, with wonderful coloring. Some are hard to get pictures, because they don't just sit there like other ones, waiting for you to get the camera adjusted just right. It's a great alternative to all the shopping that stares you in the face when you get to St. Thomas. Also, if you want to go back there the same day, they will let you do that. We didn't because it started to rain. All in all, I would recommend it.

There are two butterfly farms in St. Thomas. This one is literally right next to the pier exit when you come off f the Disney Fantasy. Go behind Señor Frogs and you're there. We stopped in right during the parrot show and my daughter (5) loved it. The parrots are trained to do all sorts of neat stuff and it was very entertaining. The butterfly garden is a walk through exhibit. We saw maybe eight to ten species of butterflies and with careful movement of your finger, they would walk on you finger, and I did see one lady attract many of them to her without doing anything, This is not a fancy exhibit, but it is fun and provides good photo ops.
