Wonderful B&B overlooking Charlotte Amalie. We stayed one night as a jump-off point to our vacation week in the BVI. It was so charming, we booked for our last night in St. Thomas before flying back home. The rooms are quaint and unique--- like your staying with a funky-hip grandma.
We arrived late in the evening (10:45) but beautiful Yoanna (sp) was there to greet us and show us to our room. Breakfast on the common patio was delicious and Chris (the owner) acted as waiter and cook. Breakfast was home-made delicious and we got to know our fellow B&B'rs while we enjoyed a nice view of the harbor below. The outdoor pool is extremely well-kept and is very refreshing--- not the chlorine bath most public pool are!The staff is so friendly and welcoming we had to come back. This time we stayed in one of the upper rooms with a water view and it was great. The only negative we can think of is that you need to be able to climb several flights of outdoor stairs to get to the Galleon House -- not a negative for us but could be for other travelers. Perhaps the best validation came from another couple we met at breakfast. It was their first time staying at the Galleon House even though they have been coming to St. Thomas for 20 years. They said it was a jewel they wish they had discovered earlier--- made us first-timers feel even better about our choice!

The worst hotel I've been in my life. It must have more than 10.000 steps. I advise people to old, don't go to this Hotel. The check-in does not occur before 7 pm.
all people arriving has a horrible surprise. The person who answers the Hotel is already accustomed to overlook guests

This was the best place I have ever stayed. To return to a welcome back after spending a day in paradise is awesome. I would be willing to climb a mountain in order to receive the kind and caring treatement we received at The Galleon House. Not an act. They are trully kind and considerate. Beth and I will surely return to our home away from home :-)

Nice bed and breakfast. We stayed in the basic room which is simply 4 walls big bathroom, cable, fridge, and ac. No window. However, there are many rooms with great view and balconies. Great customer service and very polite. They took care of every request from private taxi being Nathaniel who was always on time. It is right next to everything you need. There are a lot of steps but they will take care of your bags. The pool was always spotless. Would absolutely stay again. Best bang for your buck in St. Thomas

Stayed at the Galleon House the night before and the night after a sailing trip. Rates are reasonable for St. Thomas, will book 1 night at a time in peak season (many places require 3 nights), view is terrific, decent cooked to order breakfast is included. Rooms are dated but satisfactory if you don't plan to spend much time in your room. About a 10 minute walk to waterfront where most bars and restaurants are located. Trade off - you must climb around 60 stairs with your luggage from the street to get to the check in area, and another 30 or so stairs from there to your room, so be forewarned. Staff is friendly.

Room Tip: Pick a room with bay views - you are up on a hillside so views are terrific.
