“One of a kind”
Reviewed July 11, 2012

I was really impressed with the beauty and history of the synagogue. The sand floor caught me by surprise. A must see. It's located just above and parallel to Main Street in the center of town.

“The historic and beautiful synagogue of the Caribbean”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

This is often considered a must for visitors to St. Thomas. The historican background of the synagogue is fascinating--books have been written about it. Don't miss the gift shop. It has beaurful Judaica to take home to remember the special visit to a sand floor Sephardic design house of worship.

“Interesting Synagogue”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

It is always interesting to see synagogues in different locations, and this one is no exception. The rabbi was so helpful in giving us a tour and answering our questions, and it was beautiful to see the decor and interesting to see the sand floor. Worth a stop if you're in St. Thomas.

“Great experience”
Reviewed April 29, 2012

We had the good fortune of meeting Cantor Diane Krasnick and her husband Marc in a social situation, she was warm and witty, even convinced us to attend a Friday night service, which we did. The historic synagogue was on my list to tour anyway and we were able to combine it with a nice Shabbot service which made our visit a bit more special.

This is a very historical Synagogue for this hemisphere. It's beautiful sandy floor is there for a very good reason, and anyone there is quick to help answer your questions. Wonderful visit and we will definitely return.
