This is where a lot of the locals set up to sell their wares. The size was small the day we went but it was off-season and a day when no cruise ships were docked so maybe that is why it seemed small. You will find the typical shirts and dresses here.

After walking in and out of several stores on Main St., we happened upon the flea market in Market Place- which had been our objective all along. First off, it’s not very large, a small number of booths and vendors trying their best to make a living off of us tourists. Didn’t feel any undo pressure and it didn’t take long to stroll through as they sell pretty much the standard souvenir fare. My wife found a swimsuit cover-up that she liked and she got for a decent price and in 10 minutes were done. Check that off our list- Been-There-Done-That

It was once but the practice was ended in the late 1800's. Today it is where the Havensight cruise terminal shuttle vans leave you off near Main Street. This is a small street vendors market with the usual stuff for sale.

I visited the market quite a few times to pick up last minute gifts. Similar to any other markets in the carribean but highly organized. If you are an experienced traveler then you know how poor carribean countries can be so selling goods is how they make a living to tourists. For the people who felt they were being haggled or harressed just remember this island was hit with 2 major hurricanes so if people seemed a bit "pushy" this is how they make a living. If asking you to come take a look at what they have annoyed you put yourself in there shoes! I enjoyed the market and got really great deals on shirts, mugs, shot glasses and keychains. The vendors were very friendly, far from pushy and were very negotiable on alot of goods. The items I purchased were of great quality and made great gifts upon returning. If you are looking for quality without the high end shop prices this is your go to!

We tried it out and walking through the small park we didn’t feel safe as we had a couple of guys walk up behind us quickly and watched our moves. The market itself is just like the stores, but a lot of knock of things. Some would negotiate others didn’t care to. We skipped it all and just went to the shops downtown since we felt a bit more comfortable.

many different vendors are packed into this area but they are all very well set up - there is food, drink and water available. Prices were reasonable.

This is a very typical Caribbean market not far from the cruise ports and adjacent to Main Street shopping, with lots of vendors selling various t shirts, Caribbean style clothing, scarfs, silver jewelry, shot glasses, magnets and other souvenir items. Fun to walk through but after you have visited several booths, it gets very repetitive. Best to visit in the morning when it might be just a bit cooler.

You do not need lots of time to visit the whole place. It is colourful and offers several small shops. Continuing eastbound from the Market Square, you get to see the Emancipation Park, sit down, or simply continue to visit the fort.
