“Great way to view St. Thomas”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

We walked from our cruise ship to this attraction. You can take a cab if you like. It is a long walk, and once there, there are a lot of stairs. So if you have a hard time walking, I would not recommend this. Otherwise we very much enjoyed the view of the harbour and the history. The fee was about $7.00 each. There is free rum tasting at the end of the tour. It is very picturesque so make sure you have your camera. There is an amber museum there and lots of statues with historical facts about the pirates that travelled the Caribbean.

“Arrgh, Matey!”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

Great views. Nummy rum tasting. Loved the old homes that were part of the tour. The 99 steps were fun to climb back up at the end (we had to find our car!).

“Wonderful Tour”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

My husband and I both enjoyed this tour and thought it was well worth the cost of admission. The tour guides are very friendly and knowledgeable and the houses and historical objects were interesting. It put the entire trip in proper historical perspective, and the rum tasting was a nice way to end the tour.

“Commercial - but the view is great”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

To be able to acces central attractions in Charlotte like Haagensens House, you have to buy ticket for Blackbeard's Castle.
You start at the bottm (or the top) of the 99 steps, and get to see Haagensens House, other houses from the colonial era, the jade swaterfall - and Blackbeard's Castle.
The BC is very comemrcial: a cafe, a rum distillery, access to he tower itself, and lots of souvenirs.
The view is great - and that's about it.

“Great fun and rum too!”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

We really enjoyed touring this historic site and traveling the winding path down to the town by way of the rum factory, colonial houses, and amber museum.
