Owner description: This 17th-century Danish fort houses a museum featuring a collection of Amerindian relics.

A very interesting building to see and very old, but its been closed for several years and will not be open in the foreseeable future. Its a shame since this is one of the oldest buildings on the island.

Work on this fort has been going on for many MANY years, and long ago forced it to close its museum. Still waiting for this historical site to reopen so I can see the inside again!

I was lucky enough to see the inside of Fort Christian before it was closed for a 1-2 year renovation. That was in 2005, and the fort is still closed. Unfortunately, due to a dispute between the contractor doing the renovation and the local government, the fort is likely to stay closed for the forseeable future. Perhaps if enough people complained to the local legislature, there could be some movement towards reopening this truly worthwhile historical monument to history.

We really wanted to see this fort. There used to be a hoarding explaining the work in progress. The fort is still closed, the hoarding gone. So assume work is still in progress. It is certainly an imposing building
