We had a fabulous time on the Ayacanora for a week! Rick was a great captain, and was very attentive keeping us happy with excursions ashore, kayaking, water skiing and snorkeling, etc. The food that chef Roberta made for us was incredibly delicious, and we all loved it, including the kids. They were both great in listening and responding to preferences! We can not wait to return!

I sailed with Roberta and Mike December 2012 and it was spectacular. I have been traveling to the Caribbean yearly for 10 years and have used several day charters and week long charters with other entities, but I found this adventure to be superb above the rest.
Ayacanora is an immaculate boat with gorgeous accommodations. Roberta and Mike are fabulous hosts that will cater to your every need and desires.
I highly recommend this excursion. You will not be disappointed.

My wife and I have boarded this vessel twice for a week at a time. We would and will return. Both trips were taken with another couple thus there were four (4) of us six (6) if you include the crew aboard the massive sailboat. Each time we were picked up from a local bar in St. Thomas that sits on the marina. Our luggage (I suggest packing light, the lighter the better) and ourselves boarded a very nice diggy and we were shuttled to our home on the water for the next seven (7) days. A briefing of the vessel is giving along with safety tips. Drinks are served and then we set sail. The on-board cook is wonderful. You will never be hungry. The cook, cooks to order and there are snacks at your disposal. Thirsty, there is always cold beer and the cook is more than happy to make you any number of tasty Caribbean cocktails that you might fancy (nutmeg infused drinks are a specialty down here). The Capitan and the Cook know everyone. You will sail to multiple islands, enjoy multiple bars both day and night, enjoy beach parties, swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing, and just general enjoyment and relaxation.
Tips: Make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen and bug repellant (make sure to spray your feet and legs when going on shore). If you are not the outdoors type make sure to speak to your hosts about the costs of running the A/C. We always opted for the A/C at night but this was a preference of ours and in our minds money well spent.
Given the personal attention, graciousness of the hosts, wonderful food, beautiful surroundings, and serenity that you experience while cutting across the amazing blue waters of the Caribbean you will be hard pressed to find a better deal in the Caribbean.

Our cruise ship stopped at St Thomas and what a treat was in store for us. A short cab ride to Red Hook and Mike & Roberta were there to meet us. A sailing trip on the Ayacanora and we arrived at a superb snorkeling area. After snorkeling, we had a fantastic lunch waiting on board Ayacanora. Roberta is an excellent chef and whips up the absolute best meals. We had our choice of many different beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic.They have snorkeling equipment, towels & sunscreen, so all you need to bring with you is your camera and adventurous spirit! It was hard to leave to go back to the ship. Never miss this day trip when you're in the St. Thomas area!!!! Can't wait for our next opportunity to stay a week ... or more! My husband and I took our first sailing charter in 2003 and we loved it so much we've done it five more times since then, always with Mike and Roberta on the beautiful Ayacanora! If you're looking for a totally personalized trip where you leave at the end of the week feeling 100% relaxed, well fed and totally pampered then this is the place for you. Mike and Roberta have a knack for discovering your wants and needs, likes and dislikes, and take care of your every desire while onboard their one of a kind 72' sailboat. If you're a little unsure about spending a week with a couple that you don't know, don't worry! They both know how to be there for you when needed, and disappear when you want privacy so you feel as if you have the yacht all to yourself. Since they've been in the Virgin Islands for many years they know all of the hot spots, secluded beaches, great beach bars, and places to snorkel so you have your own personal guides for the week. And if you love to eat like I do, then you won't be disappointed because Roberta is the best personal chef ever! Her meals are simply amazing, and again totally personalized to your individual likes/dislikes. How she manages to make such wonderful culinary delights in a galley kitchen is a mystery to me and every meal she's made for us is to die for! Forget staying at a hotel, go for a sailing charter with Mike and Roberta on the Ayacanora and cruise around the Virgin Islands and explore a new location every day - you'll never want to stay in a hotel again!
