The road is bumpy but would you rather go to a bad bar at the end of a good road or a GREAT bar at the end of a bad road? Latitude 18 sits on the edge of the azure ocean. We serve Caribbean and American cuisine! And the FAMOUS "Shark & Bake" Sandwich which was featured on the Food Network and is available ONLY at Latitude 18. I have not been here in along time. I knew it was under new management/ownership. Three of us went on a Sunday evening. They have only a southern menu on Sundays apparently. For $16 you got a hearty plate of food with 5 or 6 choices of entrees and two of a dozen or more sides plus corn bread or biscuit. The food was very good.
There was live music. They charge a $1/meal for the entertainment.
It was a hot night as the wind was not from the usual direction. Some more ceiling fans are in order. IT WAS HOT!!

Sincerely appreciate all your reviews. However, we don't charge $1 more per meal when the band is playing and never have. We do however charge .50 cents extra per drink when the band is playing as this helps us with the cost of the live entertainment while keeping our prices reasonable. This is something that has been done at Latitude 18 for years. THANK YOU for your continued support

We just returned from an excellent meal at Latitude 18. The remodel has improved the restaurant without losing that Latitude vibe. The view across the water to Red Hook is beautiful. The new owner/manager Jillian provides a personal touch that made each guest feel welcome. We shared two appetizers a shrimp in garlic sauce and escargot with blue cheese. Chef Wayne (formally of Agave Terrace) prepared an excellent Scallop special this evening. Another in our group had a fork tender steak smothered in a blue cheese sauce. Our server Chanel was attentive and informative. The music by Flipswitch was enjoyable without overpowering conversation. All around a wonderful evening and we'll be returning again and again. We cannot recommend this establishment highly enough.

As other restaurants and bars on the island start to feel more corporate and swanky, Latitude 18 keeps the atmosphere relaxed and inviting. A great spot to lounge in the afternoon with the kids or grab a drink at night. The new renovations have only made the spot even better. Not to mention the SUPER nice staff. My favorite spot & shark and bake is not to be missed! Only place where you can get REAL homemade Caribbean food, all the tourists places have burgers, shark and bake sets Latitude 18 apart.

We came late and met up with a large group of friends. As they are more of a bar, their late night offerings didn't include anything that used the grill (burgers) or the fryer (wings, etc), They were out of most of the menu, but then again it was quite the large group that had been there and they could have easily run out of food. We ended up with the appetizers that didn't need to be cooked (like ahi tartare). They were pretty good. My husband and father returned there another night and both ordered the roti. Both reported that it was bland and should be advertised as having "a sprinkling of chicken". Surprisingly high prices compared with other restaurants in Red Hook.

This is a nice beach-side bar. They could have done without the Jerry Lee Lewis music the band featured the last time I was there.
