“Good”
Reviewed April 2, 2013 via mobile

One time we went they did make mistakes on one of our margaritas, using SUGAR instead of salt and they messed up the check, but overall a really nice place to go when you are on the island

“Food was good enough that we visited twice during our week stay.”
Reviewed March 30, 2013 via mobile

We found the food to be comparable to tex-mex places in our hometown. Smoked brisket quesadillas and enchiladas were our favorites. And $5 margaritas all day long...with call brand, not well. Overall, one luch and one dinner trip, with party of four eating and drinking for under $100...good by island standards. Wasn't busy either visit - hope the poor reviews are not scaring people away as it is a solid place to eat.

“decent Mexican food”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

This restaurant is located upstairs from Molly Molone’s. Food was very good and reasonably priced. I had tortilla soup that was very good, although not terribly soupy. My co-workers had veggie and meat fajitas. Huge portions and none of us could finish the meal without a box. Great location and good food, but business seems slow. My co-worker said it was because they did not play any house music, which is a requirement in any Mexican restaurant.

“Not as bad as the reviews!”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

When you get tired of all the “fresh fish” and conch fritters, go to Amigos Mexican restaurant at Red Hook and treat yourself to some great steak Fajitas. Mmmmm is all I can say!

Sorry, I only had the Fajitas so I can't talk about about anything else, but I thought the Fajitas were great!

“Mexican in the USVI?!”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

We decided to take a break from island fare and try this restaurant in Red Hook. It's hard to take the authenticity seriously when the common entrance serves "Mexican Cantina" upstairs and "Irish Pub" downstairs, but welcome to America. ;-) The margaritas were refreshing, and the chips and salsa forgettably generic (neither good nor bad).

We had chicken fajitas and pollo en mole for dinner, both of which were very good. If you are looking for "authentic Mexican" or "Tex-Mex" this probably isn't the right place for you, but it definitely hit the spot for us and we enjoyed the meal -- and the view of the harbor from our balcony table.

The "choco taco" we had for dessert -- a fried taco filled with ice cream, drizzled with chocolate sauce -- isn't Mexican by anyone's definition, but you can't screw up ice cream and it made a nice end to the meal.
