We have been going to St. Thomas since 2006 and no visit is complete without at least one visit to The Mail Man's across from Coki Beach. We love the Horny Turtle drink (The Mail Man makes it right) and the fish with beans and rice shouldn't be missed. If you're looking for a slice of Island life - a visit to Coki with lunch from the Mail Man is where you want to be! We'll be back in February and will look forward to another visit to Coki!

The serene grounds of the Coral World Ocean Park sit next to the bustling Caribbean street scene along Coki Beach, with trinket vendors and taxis. We arrived at the park about 1:00 and were soon ready for a late lunch. Now, a decision. Would we rather have the Gringo Hamburger inside the park or look for more interesting cuisine at the risk of being ... well, solicited? No decision. We walked out of the park and soon found a little beach shack with a few barstools. We decided to split the jerk chicken dinner and ordered a couple of tropical drinks. We didn't have high expectations; we just wanted something local.

Wow, were we blown away. The drinks were outstanding and the jerk chicken was something really, really special. Actually, it was the best I've had anywhere. The red beans and rice were equal to anything we've had in New Orleans.

You will not find this place in a tourist guide - yet. I'm sure it will be. Right now, the prices are half what you'd expect to pay for food and beverage of this quality.

This is not a fancy restaurant. It is a beach shack in front of Coki Beach. We were there in July ('09).

The place is fantastic! The food is absolutely delicious and the drinks are great! My husband is still dreaming of their jerk chicken and I of their fish platter (you can also tell them to fry the fish for you if you prefer it fried). The food is half the price that you will pay at a regular restaurant and much more delicious. We kept going back to Coki beach just so we could have lunch there.

Jaime (the owner) is full of energy and a great host. On Sundays he has a cocktail hour ($2 drinks) with DJ and everything.

We can't wait to go back there next summer!
