“Perfect EXCEPT the Roaches!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 15, 2014

I completely second everything said in the review directly below this one. Everything about this resort is great - the views, the pool, the swim-up bar, the iguanas, the flora, the rooms are very nicely updated, everything. The beach was the nicest we saw out of all the ones we visited that other resorts were on. HOWEVER our first night we went to pull back the curtains in our room and two roaches came running out - and I mean large roaches. My husband killed them both - but I basically freaked out and searched the whole place over to see if there were more. We never saw any after that but finding two in the curtains in the bedroom on the first night caused me enough discomfort that I had a difficult time sleeping the remainder of the time. They need to invest in a reliable exterminator and get the bug problem (I can't believe there are other reporting the same issue as I thought we had an isolated incident) and I would give this resort 5 stars.

Room Tip: All rooms on the second floor have an excellent view - certainly request a room on the second floor...

Hello Mary,
Thank you for the great feedback about the resort and I am sorry to hear about the bug opportunity. I assure you that we will look into it with our pest control vendor and will address it. This will allow us to continue to enhance the vacation experience at our resort. Please let us know if there are opportunities to make your stay better in the future.

First I want to start with the positives, the beach, the view, the pool.... AMAZING!!! Peaceful and tranquil and the best place for some major R&R. There are iguanas running freely all over the property, as well as wild cats. The kids really enjoyed seeing that. The iguanas are large and several times during our week, jumped in the pool while people were swimming, that was a little unnerving, but the security team who walk the property assured us that they are not violent. You most definitely need a car to enjoy the area, because there is no place to eat on site, except for the pool bar. We ate at the pool bar a few times for lunch, nothing fancy - but good hot dogs and ham and turkey paninis. We went to the grocery store in town on the first day to pick up breakfast items ($20 for waffles!!), and in the evenings we would explore the different restaurants. Food is expensive because everything needs to be imported, and electricity costs are among the highest. The Staff was helpful and friendly, but when we got to our room there was a huge dead cockroach in the kitchen area (first sign). I should have called right away to change rooms, but I've heard this is a problem at the resort. At night the roaches would crawl in the kitchen area and it completely freaked me out. We had another family who we went with who stayed on the top level and they saw a roach or 2 as well. The room itself, was fine, in terms of space and beds. The view from our room was fab!! The washer and dryer (there are only 2 on the property) were usable and always available when needed. Please note bring quarters, the machines take 2 dollars each in quarters. We traveled with 3 children who had a blast bouncing between the pool and the beach. We were there for a week, and there were several small weddings which were lovely to see. There is a life size chess board (several pieces were missing, but the children used rocks as place holders), and corn hole to play. There is a small shop on the property where you can buy coffee, snacks, and a few food items. The shop owners are super friendly and helpful with suggestions of places to see or not see :) In conclusion, DESPITE the nasty ROACHs, we would come back because of the beauty of the island, and the property location was stunning.

Room Tip: I'm pretty sure all the rooms have beautiful views, and are steps away from the pool, beach area...

Part of Wyndham Time Share Resorts. Staff friendly and helpful. Room comfortable with kitchen and utensils. Shower no tub. Balcony with beach view. Roaming cats and iguanas. No dining facilities (under renovation late 2014) except for snack sandwiches by the pool (3rd party vendor operated). Saturday food shopping day to supermarket, so stock up for the week. Mr Nice Guy taxi service very dependable and friendly. Victoria = Activities Coordinator friendly, knowledgeable with no hard sell of vendors. $11/day per person electric fee

Beautiful, quiet little spot not far from town. The beach was nice. Good snorkeling, especially on the point nearer to the resort's office.

We had a studio for a week. It was very nice, with a mini kitchen. It was only a 20-yard walk from our door to the beach.

There is also a nice pool, with a bar, on the property. There is also a small store on the resort. If you plan to cook anything, they are the only place I found selling butter by the stick. You'll know why I mentioned this if you buy any groceries on St. Thomas.

The restaurant on the property was closed, but it I saw building supplies there, indicating a renovation. No matter to us because it was Carnival week and local food was abundant in the Carnival village.

This resort is known to locals as the old Lime Tree resort.

Refrigerator was a little noisy, affecting sleep quality, and there was no spa on the property.

We just returned from a week at Bluebeard's Beach Club. This is the place to go to have a private beach, every unit has a patio with a view of the beach. The pool was inviting w/pool bar where you can get lunch or breakfast. The restaurant will be opening, soon, hopefully. The staff was very friendly from the moment we checked in until the end of our stay. The activity director was very helpful in helping us to obtain knowledge of what was available for us on the island. If your looking for a perfect day trip on the water, I have to recommend Aqua Marine St. Thomas. The cruise boat was awesome They take a maximum number of people 6 maybe 7 to a varity of places around St. Thomas, St. John (They give you 5 choices of the different coves to visit) We chose to snorkel with the turtles and then on to two other coves where we saw too many different kinds of colorful fish to mention, sting rays and barracuda . We had an awesome diving expert with us at all times his name was Jeff, not only was he talented in showing us the undersea world, but he was a comedian as well. We had an excellent Capt., named Wolfgang, not only did he make you feel safe with the luxury boat, but was an excellent tour guide telling us the many stories of the different islands. Last but not least was Jen our personal chief. Before even setting foot on the boat, She knows your likes and dislikes and serves the most beautiful setting of different tastes from the moment you set foot on the boat Breakfast, Lunch and dinner and snacks in between, The drinks are just request away. We took another sunset cruise later in the week with the New Horizons and it was on a sail boat and it was nice to sail across the water with the sail up for a short time. The food was okay, but didn't seem as fresh. All in all we had a very relaxing time at the beach club and we soaked up all the sun we could. The beach hut was ran by a very nice girl named Ana and she was very friendly and a joy to visit with. Thank you all, we will return……..

Room Tip: You can't go wrong with any of the rooms as they all have balcony's that face the beach.

Exchanged our timeshare into Bluebeard's from Paradise Island, since our week was soon to expire. We were delighted at how wonderful this place was. Reviews are accurate in that not much on glitz and glamour, but a very pretty, private FRIENDLY resort which I would happily return to visit. The on-site restaurant which has been sorely vacant appears to be starting a renovation. This would be a tremendous and much welcomed improvement. The timeshare owners here that I spoke with have been waiting for this for years. Still, a great time was had by both of us!

Room Tip: Building A 2nd floor was our unit, beautiful views and the closest building to the water. However ev...
