We just returned from a 5 day, 4 night stay at the Ritz and I can't say enough good things about this resort. The staff, amenities, views and facilities were wonderful. The food, no matter what we ate, were top notch. I wish we cold have stayed longer!

We have been going to the Ritz Carlton in St. Thomas for almost a decade now. It is a beautiful property with a wonderful beach and easy access to St John and the other nearby islands. Most of the staff have been at the hotel for many years and exhibit the kind of excellent service that is increasingly rare these days; although the hotel is now owned by Hyatt, it still feels like the original Ritz Carlton in terms of attention to detail and care for guests.

There are several very good restaurants on site, and of course the concierge is always available to arrange transportation and reservations off property as well (Do try Havana Blue for dinner one night - it's quite spectacular and worth the drive, located next to the Marriott Frenchman's Reef resort.) The Ritz spa is lovely, but gets booked up quickly so call ahead if you are interested in services there. The hotel also has a big catamaran that offers snorkeling trips, day sails and dinner cruises - all great fun. We particularly like the evening cruise over to St. John, where you can have dinner and a bit of sightseeing before cruising back to the Ritz enjoying cocktails and dessert on board.

Room Tip: There are really no bad rooms at this hotel - they all have a terrace oriented toward the beach/pool...

We stayed here in February and we were impressed! The resort does not feel crowded even though they told us it was at full capacity. The service was excellent. We have stayed at the Marriott in the past and although it was a great stay the Ritz was better. It is really close to Red Hook Harbor which is very convenient when you take the ferry over to St. John.
We went on a day trip to the BVI's on the Pirate's Penny and had a great time.

If there is a negative it would be that the beach area is small and the water was a little rough.

The staff, facilities, amenities, views and location make this resort the best ace to stay in Saint Thomas.

On the east end of Saint Thomas makes this hotel convenient to the beaches of Saint Thomas as well as arranging transportation to St Johns via the ferry out of Red Hook Harbor. Fine and casual dining are located at the Ritz but there are many other options within 10 minutes of the hotel.

The infinity pool overlooks the scenic bay and the ocean has plenty of options from snorkeling to water sports.

Activities for both the kids and the adults are available.

This Ritz Carlton leaves you wanting to come back again and again.

The staff here at the Ritz was wonderful! They took care of everything with a smile and if they didn't I got them to smile! We highly recommend the full day Lady Lindsey sail trip to Jost Vandyck BC. Capt. Frank and crew, Adrianne ,Bobby, and Steve were awesome! Pool is just incredible in the day and better at night. Food and drink is way pricey but we had a great vacation. We left the snow behind so worth it! A big shout out to activity director AKA Miss Audrey! From Syracuse NY.

We did a four night getaway here for our 20th wedding anniversary -- just the two of us. It was absolutely perfect (except for sunburn -- watch that). From the moment the staff greeted us with juice and rum, to the moment they bid us a fond farewell. Beautiful, clean, tranquil, wonderful service, clean, well maintained resort wtih 4 great restaurants. We were there when the hotel was full (April) and there were still available chairs at the beach and near the pool. Nice location for a short ferry ride to St. John for exploration. We enjoyied the yoga, fitness center, snorkeling and massages. Family with kids were enjoying the kayaking, paddle boards, and sand art. Quiet rooms, never heard a neighbor, beautiful view from the balcony. Rooms were clean, but one day the housekeeper was slack. Not slack enough for me to reduce my rating from 5 stars. All that great service does come at a price though (close to a grand a day for room, resort fee, two meals and drinks). The spa was particularly expensive. Best deals -- full moon wine and cheese sailing on the Lady Lyndsay and the continential breakfast at the GBL restaurant.

Room Tip: Building A, 300 wing is fantastic.

First the good…a very nice property that is well maintained. The views from our rooms were spectacular and from what I could tell most rooms enjoy lovely views over the bay and across to St. John. Our rooms were on the small side but well appointed, comfortable, neat and clean. The staff (housekeeping, room service, bellmen, front desk, etc.) was pleasant and helpful. Our rooms were “Club” level which didn’t mean much to me…but that turned out to be a great benefit…a nice breakfast buffet, snacks, tea and cocktails available in the afternoon/evening. On to the “less-than-good”. Service in the restaurants and beachside/poolside was spotty at best. The staff was well intentioned but did not seem particularly well trained. To be clear…the service was “okay”…just not near what you might expect at a Ritz property. Finally, something not within the Ritz’s control, there were kids…lots of kids. So if kids aren’t your thing… This was our first visit and we will definitely go back. The “good” carries the day.
