We had an outstanding time during our too short stay. The Ritz has very amenity imaginable. Perfect pool, nice beach and wonderful views of the ocean and the island of St. John. The staff was wonderful - especially the front desk team. Perfect location near Red Hook and the entry to the BVI's.

We have been regular visitors to this particular Ritz Carlton property for the last 10 years with our most recent trip being this past February. One of the eagerly anticipated hi-lights of our stay here is the Spa experience. This past Spa visit was by far the very best Ever! My husband and I have come to love, appreciate and respect our Massage Therapist, Jill. My husband could not have asked for a better 90 minute massage twice that week, which for him, set the tone for this vacation. I came in with a multitude of physical issues, including a brick-like back. With her vast education and training, Jill's knowledge of body mechanics, her pro-active approach to carefully get to the root of the issue along with her gentle spirit, she literally changed my life. Jill knew exactly what I needed when she put just one hand on my back and for me, three 90 minute sessions with Jill that week helped recalibrate my body and mind. I went back home feeling healthy, relaxed and eager to stay focused on and use the health tips she gave to continue down this path.
I would love to see this Ritz Carlton Caribbean gem enhance their Spa by adding opportunities to be educated on nutrition, the importance of eating well, juicing, etc.

We knew the ritz brand had declined from the moment of our arrival. Greetings were cordial, but not very friendly. We not offered a drink or water as is typical basically of a ritz. We were given no information about the resort facilities.
We ate dinner at the outside bar that night. Service was extraordinarily Ritz . However, the next morning we could not get into breakfast. It had rained several hours earlier yet the outside seating had not been dried yet. We did receive an apology , but not until the next day..
We went to the bar for dinner on another night after an earlier rain and explained to them the cushions were not needed on the outside seating and they could dry the wet areas. After finally accommodating us, the did the same to the entire patio which quickly filled with guests.
Although the food at coconut grove was good, the service was poor. We had to request bread and water. We shared dishes and asked they not be split, but they were.
There was no one available to bring towels or set up chaises at the pool or beach. It was completely a do it yourself job.
Servers for refreshment at the pool and beach had to be flagged doe. We were never approached.
Generally, the facility appeared understaffed and light on management. ( We have noticed this at the last several Ritz's we stayed). Comments among locals confirmed the resort was now more typical of the parent company (mARRIOT) than the resort it once was.
We first stayed here over13 years ago. The service and overall ambiance was outstanding. We were sold on the ritz Carlton brand because of how exceptional our stay was.
We have finally realized the warmth and service we had previously experienced is no longer part of this chain.
Although our overall experience was good, it was not the experience we had come to expect.

Stayed at the Ritz St Thomas last week of Jan. My husband and I shared a van/taxi with others from the airport to the hotel around $35. We were the second to last stop of the 30 minute ride. We were greeted with a smile and a complimentary cocktail. The staff at the Ritz is fantastic, always friendly and easy to make conversation with during our entire stay. We stayed in the Fressia bldg with club lounge access. The entire staff in the lounge were fantastic. Great breakfast! The grounds are lush and well maintained. The room was large, clean and the view was amazing. There are alot of steps and alot of walking but we were fine with that. We stayed mostly at the hotel, relaxed by the pool and sat on the beach. Make use of the water sports since they are included in the resort fee. We snorkled at closeby Coki beach which was great for snorkeling however not a place I would care to spend the day at. We took a day trip into ST John which was also amazing. Crystal clear water. The ferry to St John was very close to the hotel. Overall our stay A+ I would def say stay at this hotel or the Frenchmans Reef if you are visiting St Thomas.

We always enjoy our stays at the Ritz-Carlton and count on them to provide a beautiful vacation escape. This property is among our favorites. The location provides an absolutely perfect view of the beauty of St. Thomas. From every vista, a stunning scene awaits. We had an ocean front suite on the Club Floor. It was spacious, impeccably furnished, absolutely pristine, and had the largest balconies we have ever seen. One balcony opened from the living room and was wide enough to house a table with four chairs along with a spacious sofa. Off the bedroom, another balcony the same size held two chaise lounges and a table in between. From both, you could see much of the property; the beach, pool, St. John, and of course the azure water. Breathtaking! There were two open air restaurant/bars that we spent some time enjoying as well as a terrific restaurant, Blue Water. It was romantic with quiet and efficient service. Elegantly presented, the food was excellently prepared and delicious. My only complaint about the restaurant was that the wine list is egregiously overpriced with many wines listed at four and a half times the retail price. We settled on a bargain that was a mere two and a half times the usual price. I went to a yoga class while there that was complimentary to hotel guests, that is rare at any hotel and the instructor was terrific. The beach and grounds are meticulously maintained and we were well cared for while there. There were many families vacationing here and it got pretty noisy on the beach, but there is an adults only pool that is much more quiet. The staff is friendly and always attentive. We were quite sad to leave this gorgeous well-staffed gem.

Room Tip: The club floor is a good value. Breakfast, lunch, and late afternoon tapas are all included as well...

Had a wonderful time in St. Thomas. Staff was fantastic. Only regret was the spa. I was there last year and their spa therapist that I loved is no longer there.

Can anyone tell me where Boel is on Island? The hotel has lost the best masseuse ever. Do not go to the spa but absolutely go on Lady Lynsey. Captain Frank is the best.

The hotel, staff and food are amazing! A beautiful beachfront property. Take the boat across to St. Johns for a wonderful evening at the Terrace. Get reservations on the weekend for Blue water as the outdoor space fills up fast!

Room Tip: Some of the less expensive "garden view style" rooms are actually beach view!
