Sails is a little beach-side bar and restaurant at the Ritz on the east end of St Thomas.

They have seating under a roof that resembles the namesake sails and they serve guests on the beach.

They offer a short, but respectable menu with some choices salads, sandwiches, burgers, etc. They also offer a nice selection of location appropriate tropical drinks. Beers are on the light side for my taste, but are the mainstream brews that a lot of people like.

If you like a ice cream, they even have Ben & Jerry's and Hanggendaz ice cream on a stick.

Nothing is "cheap", after all this is the Ritz. Tropical Drinks are $12-$16 and food is priced similarly by comparison. I don't recal specific examples. I'm on vacation...if I'm not shocked, I just sign the tab.

We were staying at the Ritz Carlton so we had lunch here a few times. Food was tasty and service good, although somewhat expensive (it's the Ritz). Atmosphere is great as the views are the pool and beach.

Wouldn't recommend going if it means taking a separate taxi ride to get there.

Been dining at the Ritz for years, in both dining rooms until recently. The only reason I go to the Ritz now is the Sushi, for which I previously had no foodie obsessions. It's exquisitely prepared and tasty, the portions are large enough for a dinner if you order three platters and share, and dining outside on the terrace makes for a peaceful and calming end to busy days. I used to enjoy sitting inside at the bar, but no more. It's often filled with a bunch of self-absorbed shouting sports enthusiasts yelling at the TV. Re: others' comments about the Ritz's run down appearance: it was noticeable, from the mold in the fountains to the general lack of care of the vegetation. And, for the first time, the legendary Ritz service by our waiter was nowhere in sight.

Convenient, family-friendly finger food right next to poolside. Had the Cuban sandwich and nachos which were both very tasty.

my wife had a 3 hour spa treatment to go to, so I dropped her off and came back later to meet her at sail's. sat at the bar and had a really nice cold caribe....alright....like 3 ice cold caribes!...So after her spa, she met me there looking unbelievably relaxed, by the way. Thank you spa people!
So we ordered mojito's which were really very good and the fish tacos and the blacked mahi sandwich. The food was great, our bartender Lawrence was really friendly and the view is probably one of the best on the island
