“Great local food”

Down an alley off the main streets of Charlottte Amalie, Gladys' Cafe serves wonderful Caribbean food at fair prices. I had jerk mahi mahi for lunch, &12, which was fresh and very good. The others in our group were also very happy with their choices. It can be busy. So, relax and enjoy the ambience. Highly recommend this restaurant.

“We go for the mango coladas”

But we stay for the snacks of conch fritters, spicy wings and roti's! Great way to spend an hour or so after an excursion when visiting the island on a cruise.

“Over-rated”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2013

Went there on the recommendation of TripAdvisor. I was not really that impressed. I had the curry chicken, which was good, but a lot of skin and bone in the chicken...sauce was very salty. Waitress did not seem to want to be bothered.

“Island food served with indifference”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2013

The food is decent and it is an institution, but the service makes a visit a chore. Go once (or spend your money with other local vendors) and then move on to better restaurants that actually want you to be there.
