tucked in a little alley. Nice atmosphere, good prices and they have "fresh" fish selections. The lobster salad sandwich was good. Bread was just a bit dry. Definitely worth a stop

On one of our recent trips to the lovely island of St. Thomas we had the good fortune to stumble across this exceptional restaurant. It is located in one of many of the cobblestone alleyways that Charlotte Amalie is so famous for. After several hours of shopping we were in need of a break. As we passed by this establishment, we noticed that people were quite involved in enjoying their meals. So we decided to give it a try. We were greeted warmly by the hostess/waitress and seated promptly. The atmosphere was comfortable and it was obvious that clients were tourists and locals.

They serve a mix of Caribbean and American Dishes all with Gladys' special twist. We sampled several different dishes and all were excellent. Our favorite appetizer was the house-made chips and salsa. Gladys also offers quite a selection of homemade hot sauces that perfectly compliment the delicious cuisine. For a good meal in a pleasant atmosphere with excellent service, this is the spot.

Gladys' Cafe is a hidden gem in Charlotte Amalie, where both local food and the famous Gladys' sauce are served. Try to go after 2 p.m. when most of the tourists return to their cruise ships.
