Gladys' Cafe is a hidden gem in Charlotte Amalie, where both local food and the famous Gladys' sauce are served. Try to go after 2 p.m. when most of the tourists return to their cruise ships.

Perfect food, perfect service, perfect drinks and great sauces to go. Local food and great chicken salad. Fun place and you really feel welcome and well taken care of.

If walking the back little alleys thru town, this little spot is a treat. Service, ambience and food all excellent. I had the curried goat with salad ( passing on the plantains and rice). Delicious and different. Try with they re homemade hot sauce. Chips and homemade guacamole not typical, uniquely baked crisps.

Great place to eat. They have "caribbean" menu items as well as salads, burgers, etc. The caribbean food featured oxtail stew, curries and more. The curry dishes were great and my husband really enjoyed the oxtail stew. You definitely get your money's worth with the portion sizes. They also serve really yummy conch fritters. We tried all the different homemade hot sauces and bought a couple of bottles as souvenirs. The staff is very warm and friendly and the place didn't feel touristy. We had a great time.

Really good island food. They have a nice variety of island food and it is fresh and flavorful. The jerk wings are incredible. The atmosphere is nice in an old stone building in one of the alleys between veterans drive and main street and Gladys is in the restaurant greeting customers and making sure her food is enjoyed. I would recommend this place for a taste of the islands. The homemade guacamole was also very good with fresh cooked chips.
