“nice little beach with snorkel "stops" (marked and unmarked)”

On the beach there's a volleyball court of some sort, but it's mostly a quiet beach. But for years, someone has been making patches of artificial reef with rocks, discards, coral boulders, and art, off the north part of the beach. The fish and other sealife flock to each patch. Some are marked with buoys. Others are between marked sites, and if you spiral around, you will happen upon them. Reasonable chance of turtle sightings. Pictures were taken on an overcast day with rain, so visibility should usually be even better.

Rainbow Beach has become one of our MUST DO days when on St. Croix. There is parking right across the street from Rhythms. Water Sports is right there to set you up with chairs and umbrellas. (Reasonable rates!) There are beach games available - corn hole - volley ball - and you can even rent jet skis. Despite the fact that you can rent the jet skis there - there is a designated area away from the beach and you do not encounter them at all while trying to relax on the beach or in the water. The beach is clean and smooth and the water is pristine. There are even areas where the snorkeling is fantastic right off the beach. Rhythms is right there with excellent food and drinks. It is the perfect beach day!

The first day we went it was very early and there was literally no one there. It was like we stumbled upon a hidden gem. It was worth the drive to Fredriksted. It was so good, after lunch , we headed there again. Very nice, Very clean. There's no facilities to change or reallly any decent food right on beach so pack a cooler or some drinks and snacks and head out there for some really clean, beach waters. Bring lots of sun screen! Don't underestimate the sun.

Small artificial reefs are marked with white buoys. we rented a paddleboard from Freedom City and paddled our way up and had a quick look around. It was a good paddle to get back but we had a blast.

Rainbow Beach is a wonderful, soft beach with great services available. I came late in the afternoon for a few hours to spend some time before sunset and dinner at Rhythms, and wasn't disappointed. The beach was clean and calm, there were watersports rentals available (I didn't indulge), and the people were friendly and considerate.

The water was perfect late in the day - maybe the warmest I found on the island, and crystal clear.
