13 of us from the Houston Underwater Photographic Society (HUPS) travelled to STX to dive the Pier at Fredericksted, STX. We selected Cottages By The Sea to stay as it close to the Pier, and had great comments from those who had stayed there before.I would describe it a a eclectic type of motel setting similar to many found in the Florida Keys and really a joy to stay in. We had a large room, the Commodore, and if you have more than 2 persons, it is a great room to stay in as it has a full kitchen, bunk beds in one room , an outdoor patio with table and chairs, a gazebo close by and can be a great gathering place if you are travelling with a group.
Sylvia's Room and the Crew Room are pretty small and Coco Bean is very small in size as the group had 8 rooms at this property
The beach is great and the restaurant next door was wonderful. While we were there a turtle research program was ongoing and it was very interesting to listen to a lecture the participants in the project gave one evening. If you want to dive the Pier this is the place to stay. The staff was very receptive to our requests and I would highly recommend if you are staying on the Fredericksted side of the island to stay at Cottages By the Sea.More
