“Just a big concrete pier”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

No festive atmosphere, shops, entertainers, etc. like other famous sunsets. Just a very long cruise ship pier.

“Perfect for Beginning Divers!”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

I cannot imagine a better place for a beginning diver than the Frederiksted Pier.

There is all kinds of interesting sealife to see, the depth is very shallow (25 - 30 feet) and you can just walk right into the water after you’ve stopped off at the N2 the Blue dive shop across the street (that’s a definite tout!)

I have dived the pier three or four times, and it never gets old. As you swim out along the pier, from mooring to mooring, each mooring has its own little coral reef, and I have seen everything from turtles to drum fish to rays to gorgeous French angelfish.

The reef at each mooring is literally teeming with aquatic activity.

Again, it’s the perfect place for beginning diving, as the shallow water lets the typical beginning “heavy breather” stay underwater a good while, and at only 25 feet or so decompression poses no real problem.

If you go for diving, you'll probably want to go when there is no cruise ship, which will make the location very quiet.

After the dive, you simply climb out of the water, walk back over to N2 the Blue to rinse off your gear, and then head off a half mile or so to Rhythms for a cold beer. How convenient is that?

“Pier Activities”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

During our visit to St Croix, we visited the Frederiksted Pier when cruise ships were docked at the pier. Frederiksted came to life. Enjoyed shopping the booths and watching the Mocko Jumbies. Later visited the pier and watched fisherman throwing nets to catch small fish along the pier. Town has much to offer; however most of the time it is very quiet.

Really easy Dive good at Night and Day! It would be a good place to dive if you haven't been in a while.

“Great place to shop”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

When the cruise ships are in port there are great little open air market places to shop on the pier. Good place to send a few hours to shop and eat.
