Owner description: The Best Bar and Top Beach on the island is situated less than a 10 minute walk or short cab ride from the Cruise Dock in Frederiksted. One-of-a kind sunsets and beautiful views! We are the original home of the Lime In The Coconut. Relax on the beach, catch a live performance on our famous stage by the islands best musicians, dance, eat great fare, jet ski, snorkel, visit our T-Shirt shop for authentic souvenirs, and even plan an ATV tour around the island. Just Limin & Stylin at Rhythms at Rainbow Beach!

We went to Rhythms on 3 separate occasions between May 27th - June 8, 2010. The people, food and music are great and only topped by the wonderful sandy beach.

Thsi is the place to spend the day-beautiful beach and the perfect restaurant/bar in one stop. The food is great and a good price but the bar is full of character. Play a round of checkers on their custom board(wait until you see the checkers) or belly up to the bar for a drink with a view. We stopped by after the ATV Gecko tour and liked it so much we came back three more times. The mahi-mahi sandwich is our favorite and you'll have great service too. We have been to lots of islands but Rainbow beach is our favorite!

I found no beach I like better than Rainbow. You can spend an afternoon on the beach with flowing drinks, good food and plenty of shade. The beach is awesome but the bar makes it all the more fantastic. Friendly service and colourful people make this spot a good time for anyone, including families. When my plane lands on the Island, I go immediately to Rythyms for a drink and a dip. See you there.

Just north of Fredericksted, in 1971: Dogfish, Stix, Sigrid, Stanley, Judith and I were drinking at Stanley's little beach house next door to a little bar/hot dog stand, on land owned by Arthur Christiansen. When the bar next door refused to give us any more ice, so we decided to buy the lease on the bar. It was Dogfish's idea to rename it "Rainbow Beach" and paint it up in rainbow colors. Dogfish and Stix and daughter Una moved into one of the outbuildings, I moved into the shack, and Stanley remained in his little house. We had a wonderful local clientele, including Blinky (Sylvester Macintosh, the best of the Cruzian musicians), Carl LaBeet, and Tommy McKay. Some of the early bird customers even had their own keys, so they could start drinking before the rest of the world was awake.
Half the barstools were in the sand with the beautiful smiling Caribbean behind. There were only two walls. There was lots of live local music. We charged 65 cents for any drink, anything from a beer to a banana daquiri. We had good food and a health juice bar too. Eventually we leased the kitchen out to a local fisherman/cook, who delighted the diners with his fresh fish and fungi. After awhile there was a terrible occurrence -- the murder of Stanley in 1972. The partners were not all getting along very well, and Siggy brought in some new blood. Drummer Don Roebuck enlarged and improved the bartop. Dogfish, Stix, and Una left the island. I got a job on the VAST (oceanographic) boat and moved out of Rainbow. But part of my heart remains at Rainbow Beach to this day. Have a drink there for me, please...I'm marooned in California.
