Went to a meeting here and it was a very nice job. It's absolutely beautiful. So quiet, as is the town of Frederiksted.

This Danish-built fort at Frederiksted is historically significant, which makes a visit to the museum inside rather disappointing, as there is so much more that could be done with it. I found it rather dreary, with poorly designed exhibits in a dark interior. A better museum in town is the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts on Strand Street, just a short walk from the fort and Cruise Ship Pier.

The fort is a museum today, containing a nice load of historical facts and artifacts on exhibition. There is a replica of the Freedom Bell used to ephasize the emancipation of the slaves back in 1848.

The fort is rather worn out and could need a bit of fresh paint - but for 3 dollars, it's an excellent way of learning a bit about the slavery of the old days.

Lovely historical fort museum allows free access to stunning views both inside and outside the structure. Fort Frederik guards the western approach to St. Croix while Fort Christiansvaern guards the Eastern.

A photographic beauty.

Definitely should go and see when in Frederiksted. Bring a hat as you may be outside in the sun a lot when touring.
