“go for the events!”

St. George hosts a variety of wonderful events and festivals. Check out their calendar of events and plan around them. The grounds are beautiful and enjoy the spectacular plant life abound.

“Most Unusual Garden”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

We visited on a Sunday and luckily had time before they closed. We were the only tourists there and got to be guided by the cashier's young son. He was a good tour guide and we had fun talking to him. The plants and trees were very unusual and of course some are only found there in St. Croix. You could take a self guided tour and follow the pamphlet but was easier with someone who knew which way to go. This was definitely worth the trip. (They have rest rooms too.) During the season, a gift shop with drinks etc. is available.

“Nice adventure through nature”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

Lovely gardens and well kept. Signs for most items helped you on the self guided tour you take. Took about an hour to meander the entire place. We went recent, out of season, and disappointed that museum was closed. Remember where you are and bring cold drinks or u can buy a cold bottle of water for $2. Very unique and different plants and trees, fruit or flowering. Worth it as it is on your way to stop in for a bit going from one side of the island to the other. Or after your cruzan rum tasting you can wander a bit here. Lucky for us. The bit of rain we got was while walking thru the rainforest part of the botanical gardens.

“past season but very VERY interesting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

It was very hot the day we went(oh what a surprise) the self-guided map was easy to understand & informative. there was a lot to see from an old herb garden, to a working blacksmith shop to an old grave yard. It was very quiet and peaceful. Cold drinks were available in the gift shop

“A little slice of heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

These are some of the nicest botanical gardens to wander through. They are well maintained, although you are walking on ground, not pavement so not the best for wheelchairs. There are decent signs where you need them and gorgeous flowers and plants. You can wander for hours or just hit the specific areas you want. The volunteers there are helpful, and don't miss stopping in the gift shop just to chat. Make sure you bring your camera.
